Happy Birthday, Columbia Wellness!

Today, we proudly celebrate a remarkable milestone and honor our roots. Though we have been serving clients since 1950, September 14, 1953, our parent organization, Cowlitz County Guidance Association, was officially incorporated in the State of Washington, marking the beginning of our mission that has touched countless lives for more than seven decades.

We have gone through a few name changes along the way, CCGA, Lower Columbia Mental Health, and Riverview Psychiatric. What began as a commitment to supporting the health and well-being of our community has grown into the organization we know today as Columbia Wellness. Through the dedication of our employees, partners, clients, and supporters, we have continued to expand our impact while staying true to the values that inspired our founding.

As we celebrate this anniversary, we reflect with gratitude on the generations of compassionate professionals who have helped build a legacy of hope, healing, and resilience. We also look forward with excitement to the future and the opportunities ahead to continue serving our communities.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey.

On September 11, 2026, we mark 25 years since the attacks on the United States. We pause to remember the lives lost, honor the bravery and sacrifice of first responders, and recognize the lasting impact on survivors, families, and communities across our nation.

Milestone anniversaries can bring grief, anxiety, stress, or difficult memories back to the surface. Columbia Wellness reminds our community that no one has to navigate those feelings alone. Compassionate mental health services and support are available for those who need them.
