This month's Grand Rounds features Kara Barnett, MD, Clinical Member at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Director of Anesthesia Services at MSK's Monmouth regional site.

Dr. Barnett earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees from Washington University in St. Louis and completed her anesthesiology residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

A recognized leader in ambulatory anesthesia, Dr. Barnett serves on the Board of Directors of the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia (SAMBA), where she chairs both the Scientific Papers Committee and the Non-Operating Room Anesthesia (NORA) Committee. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists (NYSSA) and is actively involved in numerous institutional and national committees dedicated to advancing anesthesiology practice and patient care.

Last Friday, our office turned into a full-on carnival for the OrthoMed Funesthesia, and the fun was non-stop. Caricature drawings had everyone laughing, face painting turned our team into tigers and butterflies, and the carnival games brought out some serious competitive spirit!

We fueled up on cotton candy and caramel apples, and our balloon artist twisted up creations that were almost too cool to pop.

Huge thanks to our office management team and to everyone who joined in on the fun. Teams that play together, stay together! 💙

What a night at Cibolo Moon! We had a wonderful time bringing our amazing clinicians together for a well-deserved social hour in the heart of San Antonio. Great food, great company, and even better conversations. It was the perfect evening to relax, connect, and enjoy each other's company outside of the everyday hustle.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us. Your energy and enthusiasm made the night so special. Our clinicians are the backbone of everything we do, and we hope you had as much fun as we did!

The energy in San Antonio was unmatched!

We brought the insight and the inspiration at our latest Beyond Call event, and wow, what a night!

Our very own Andrew Sanders, DNAP, MBA (Chief Administrative Officer) and Ashley Wells, DNAP, CRNA (Clinical Implementation Specialist) took the stage and poured into the next generation of anesthesia professionals, sharing their journeys, the real talk, and the advice they WISH they had starting out.

This is what Beyond Call is all about: connecting aspiring CRNAs with the people who've walked the path and are ready to light the way.

San Antonio, thank you for showing up and showing OUT. We can't wait to see what this generation does next.

This month's Grand Rounds features Girish P. Joshi, MBBS, MD, FCAI, FASA, Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical School.

Dr. Joshi is an internationally recognized leader in anesthesiology and ambulatory surgery. He serves as Executive Editor of Anesthesia & Analgesia and Section Editor for UpToDate, and has served as President of the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia (SAMBA), the Society of Anesthesia and Sleep Medicine (SASM), and the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists (TSA).

His contributions to the specialty have earned him Distinguished Service Awards from both SAMBA and TSA, recognizing his commitment to advancing anesthesiology, patient care, and perioperative medicine.
