One thing I wish every person going through IVF to understand is this:
A beautiful embryo does not automatically guarantee a baby.
We assess embryos based on their appearance and development. However, an embryo that looks excellent under the microscope may still have chromosomal abnormalities.
This is why some patients transfer beautifully graded embryos and still get a negative pregnancy test.
And sometimes a poorly graded embryo and get positive pregnancy result.
It doesn’t necessarily mean the embryologist made a mistake or the patient’s body rejected the embryo.
However it’s encouraged that after several unsuccessful attempts that patient should consider PGT.
Have you ever wondered why a good-quality embryo can fail to implant?
