What a great day for future therapists at Miller’s!

On Monday, October 5th, while we were hosting Cleveland State physical therapy students at our Cleveland location, our Columbus team was also happy to welcome second-year Occupational Therapy Doctorate students from The Ohio State University for our annual CRT Hands-On Training Lab.

The students rotated through three interactive stations focused on manual wheelchair mobility, power mobility, and cushion and pressure mapping. These hands-on experiences give future occupational therapists an opportunity to work directly with complex rehab technology and better understand how the right equipment can impact mobility, positioning, and independence.

A special thank you to Theresa and Matt from Ohio State for including Miller’s and leading the labs and helping create such an engaging learning experience.

We love hosting this group each fall, and it was especially rewarding to know that on the same day, Miller’s teams in both Columbus and Cleveland were helping educate and introduce future therapists to the world of complex rehab technology.

We were happy to welcome physical therapy students from Cleveland State University to Miller’s Cleveland location on October 5th.

Miller’s ATPs Don Shiplett and Dan Peak spent time with the students providing hands-on equipment demonstrations, with a special focus on pediatric mobility and positioning equipment. It was a great opportunity for the students to see the equipment up close, ask questions, and learn more about the role complex rehab technology can play in supporting patients and their families.

A special thank you to our vendor partners Ki Mobility, EasyStand, Rifton, and Sunrise Medical for lending equipment and also sharing their expertise to help make the session possible.

We also loved hearing the feedback from the students who attended. A special thank you to Suzanne Giuffre, PT, EdD, Department Chair and Professor at Cleveland State University, for bringing her students to visit us and helping make this opportunity possible.

We appreciate the opportunity to support the education of future physical therapists and introduce them to the world of complex rehab technology.

Great news for the Complex Rehab Technology community and the people we serve!

The Choices for Increased Mobility Act has passed the U.S. Senate by unanimous consent.

This is a major milestone after years of hard work and advocacy from across the CRT community. The legislation will help give Medicare beneficiaries greater choice and improved access to titanium and carbon fiber ultralightweight manual wheelchairs.

Thank you to everyone who made calls, sent emails, shared their stories and advocated for this important legislation. Those efforts made a difference.

The bill now heads to the President for consideration, bringing us one step closer to the finish line.
