⏰🍂 Reminder: Daylight Saving Time Ends today: Sunday, November 1 at 2am! 🍂⏰

For people living with diabetes, the time change can affect more than your clocks. Changes to sleep, meal, exercise, and medication schedules may impact blood sugar management.

🩸 A few helpful reminders from the Teladoc Health Library:

✅ Update the clocks on your insulin pump, CGM, and other diabetes devices.
✅ Check that device times are correct to help ensure medications, alerts, and insulin doses occur at the right times.
✅ Monitor your blood sugar a little more closely during the first week after the time change.
✅ Try to maintain consistent meal, activity, and sleep schedules.

A little preparation can help make the transition smoother and support healthy blood sugar management.

🐱💙 Happy National Cat Day! 💙🐱

Did you know that companion pets, including cats, may help support people living with diabetes?

🐾 Cats can help create routine by encouraging consistent feeding, play, and activity schedules that can fit alongside healthy habits like meals, medication, and exercise.

🐾 Cats provide companionship and can help reduce feelings of loneliness by offering comfort, affection, and a comforting presence at home.

🐾 Cats may help reduce stress through purring, cuddles, playtime, and simply being there when you need a break. Lower stress can support overall well-being and diabetes self-management.

Whether they're curled up beside you, reminding you it's time for dinner, or entertaining you with their antics, our feline friends can be wonderful partners in a healthy lifestyle. 🐈✨

📸 Pictured here are Muffin and Biscuit, two rescue cats who keep their owners smiling and on their toes every day.

Thank you to Diabetes Education Services for sharing information on the positive role companion pets can play in supporting diabetes self-management.
