♻️ Your empty water bottle isn't trash — it's a resource. That PET plastic container is 100% recyclable and can be transformed into new products like clothing, carpet, or — full circle — a brand-new bottle. Recycling keeps the loop going and reduces the need for new raw materials.

Healthy eating and healthy hydration go hand in hand. Water deserves a visible place in how we talk about healthy habits, from the classroom to the cafeteria to the family dinner table.

The Dietary Guidelines for Americans help shape federal nutrition policy and inform programs that affect families and schools across the country. That makes national nutrition guidance an important part of the conversation about children's health.

National School Lunch Week shines a light on how federal and local programs shape nutritional outcomes for children, and we believe healthy hydration should be part of the conversation.

Nutrition education doesn’t have to stop when the lesson ends. It can continue right at the lunch table.

School meals give students opportunities to experience balanced food choices. Schools can reinforce that learning by making drinking water accessible and helping students understand why healthy hydration belongs in their daily routines.

Teachers can connect hydration to science. School nutrition teams can talk about healthy choices. Coaches can encourage students to plan for water breaks during activity.

Different roles, one shared goal: help children build habits that support their health as they grow.

Nearly 30 million children eat school lunch every school day. That’s a big opportunity to support healthy habits.

Schools participating in the National School Lunch Program are required to make free drinking water available where meals are served & maintaining access to clean, safe drinking water helps students make water part of their school day. Water helps students stay hydrated, and the CDC notes that staying hydrated supports cognitive function in children and adolescents.

National School Lunch Week celebrates the people and programs that help students access nutritious meals. We believe healthy hydration deserves a place in that conversation, too.

Healthy meals matter. Healthy habits matter. Healthy hydration matters, too.

This year's hurricane season has been historically quiet so far 🌀 — but it's not over until November 30, and it only takes one storm to disrupt a community! 💧 Remember: FEMA recommends storing at least 1 gallon of bottled water per person, per day, for several days (don't forget extra for pets!). 54.4% of U.S. children are inadequately hydrated on any given day. Lunch is a daily chance to change that number.

A healthy school lunch is about more than what’s on the tray. It’s also an opportunity to encourage healthy hydration. The 2025 to 2030 Dietary Guidelines name water as the primary beverage, and federal rules already call for free water where school meals are served.

The next step is making water easy to see, easy to reach, and appealing to students. Cups, hydration stations, and a friendly nudge from school staff all help.

Healthy hydration is a healthy choice, and school is where kids practice making it.

This National School Lunch Week, we’re celebrating the people who help feed students while highlighting one simple part of a healthy school day: access to drinking water.

Beach bag packed? Don't forget the one thing your body needs most: water! ☀️🌊

A day at the beach means sunshine, fresh air, and time spent outdoors, but it also means paying attention to hydration.

Spending time in the sun and the water can increase your body's need for fluids, even if you don't feel thirsty. Keeping water within reach before, during, and after your beach day is one of the easiest ways to help you stay feeling your best.

Whether it's bottled water, filtered water, or tap water from home, choosing water first helps keep summer adventures going.

One empty bottle.
One easy decision. ♻️

PET bottled water containers are designed for full circularity and are 100% recyclable. When properly recycled, manufacturers convert that plastic into new containers, reducing the need for virgin plastic. Or they can become other items like clothing, carpeting, packaging, building materials, and much more.

Recycling helps keep valuable materials in use and supports a stronger circular economy.

The next time you finish a bottle of water, don't throw away the opportunity to recycle it.
