Tonight at 7pm, candles will be lit around the world for the Wave of Light, one hour of light passing through every time zone in memory of babies gone too soon.
If you've experienced pregnancy or infant loss, whether it was last week or decades ago, your grief is real and your baby mattered. There is no timeline and no "right way" to carry this.
Our team will be lighting a candle tonight for every family we've walked alongside, and for those who have grieved in silence.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜

Here’s something many people don’t realize: pregnancy is one of the most dangerous times in a woman’s life for intimate partner violence. Abuse often begins or escalates during pregnancy, and homicide is one of the leading causes of death for pregnant and postpartum women in the U.S.

Why? Abuse is about power and control, and pregnancy shifts that balance. A partner may feel threatened by the attention moving to the baby, resent a pregnancy he didn’t want, or use new financial, physical, and emotional dependence to tighten control. Added stress, isolation, and exhaustion can make it even harder for her to reach out or get away.

Leaving takes unimaginable courage, and too often women walk away with little more than the clothes on their backs and their children in their arms.

That’s why A Work of Heart Counseling & Wellness: For Women & Kids is teaming up with Elements Psychological SerElements Psychological Services, LLC | Dr. Jessica McCarthyrive, collecting essentials for women and mothers rebuilding their lives after leaving abuse.

Today’s moms group with The NJ Stay at Home Mom was full of tears, honesty, and so much connection. Moms walked away feeling truly SEEN and heard, and it reminded us how powerful it is to simply be in a room with people who get it.

This month we honor four awareness causes that are close to our hearts and our daily work:

🩵 OCD Awareness Month. OCD is far more than being “neat” or “particular.” Intrusive thoughts can be frightening and isolating, especially for new parents and kids. Effective, evidence-based treatment like ERP and I-CBT exists, and recovery is possible.

🩷 Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month. To every parent carrying a loss, seen or unseen: your grief is valid, and your baby mattered. On October 15th at 7pm, we’ll light a candle for the Wave of Light. We invite you to join us.

🧡 ADHD Awareness Month. ADHD isn’t a character flaw. With the right understanding and support, children, teens, and adults with ADHD can thrive, and so can the families who love them.

💜 Domestic Violence Awareness Month. No one deserves to feel unsafe at home. If you or someone you love needs support, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is available 24/7 at 1-800-799-7233 or by texting START to 88788.
