Hello AMT Family! I want to stop by and personally introduce myself. I am Makayla Pierce, soon to be Hurst, pictured here with my Fiancé, Eddie. I was born and raised here in Georgia coming from a Military family with great appreciation for our country. As a couple, Eddie and I are very active in the community and value building relationships with those around us. We have been local to the area for a few years and are excited to serve the community which we will continue to live in after getting married in March. During the day, Eddie works in technology sales in the Alpharetta area and I am a physical therapist with a strong passion for treating women with pelvic floor dysfunction.

Many women are unaware of the holistic healthcare they can receive to limit unwanted symptoms as well as pain and discomfort. Whether you are a pregnant woman, a young mom struggling with symptoms postpartum, a woman struggling with the daily battle of urinary incontinence, prolapse or pelvic pain, I want to be here to help! As a pelvic floor therapist, I treat many diagnoses as well as symptoms that are undiagnosed. If you’re in need of treatment or simply want to learn more, please reach out! I would love to speak with you about pelvic health and get to know you as a friend! 🤍

Please join us in welcoming another amazing therapist to our team!! Dr. Makayla Pierce is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute.

Dr. Makayla is an alumnus of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Before attending physical therapy school Makayla attended Georgia Southern University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Exercise Science while minoring in Psychology. She was born and raised in Georgia calling this state her home.

Makayla has a passion for pelvic floor physical therapy and works to add greater value to each individual through increased knowledge directly effecting the quality of care she provides to her patients. Makayla conducted lengthy research to present the muscle, further named Psoas Quartus to a committee of Anatomist at the IJAV conference to bring awareness to anatomical variations as a possible cause of pelvic pain.

When Makayla is not in the clinic treating patients, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and family. Additionally, Makayla enjoys creating new experiences by being outdoors, attending sporting events and exploring new places in the Atlanta area.

We are extremely thrilled to have her and we look forward to seeing her succeed in helping more members of our community! Welcome Dr. Makayla!!

Please welcome the newest member of our team, Oakley Smith! While she is still in training and spending most of her time working from home, she is a Great Pyrenees puppy who loves her family, her herd, and can already handle her bigger brother’s wrestling moves. While she learns how our office works over the next few months, you may see her from time to time and we hope everyone has a chance to meet her and can make her feel welcome!

When utilizing insurance for 'Traditional PT', Co-Pays aren't the only cost. What those clinics don't warn you is that they will be billing you for whatever your insurance doesn't cover, sometimes months later. So how then can you properly prepare for costs of treatment? By paying cash and leaving insurance out of it. In addition, visiting a 1:1 therapist is the most cost-effective use of your money, meaning you get more time with your therapist for every dollar spent. Math doesn't lie!

NEW OFFERING!! Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a light, skin-stretching massage that helps promote the movement of lymphatic fluid out of the swollen limb. It should not be confused with a traditional massage. MLD is specifically focused on the lymph vessels to help the flow of lymphatic fluid. Therapy is applied to your unaffected areas first, making it possible for the fluid to move out of the affected area, or “decongest” the region. MLD helps open the remaining functioning lymph collectors and move protein and fluid into them, as well as to help speed up lymph fluid flow through the lymphatics.

At Advanced Manual Therapies, our business model is built on two main principals.
First, treat every patient like family.
Second, the quality of treatment we provide will always be prioritized over the number of patients we see. We do not view other rehab clinics as our competitors, because our business model is completely different. The main difference? Our model is built on quality over quantity.

If you were only allowed to buy one car for your whole life, what would you buy? How well would you take care of it? Would you take it in for regular, routine maintenance? Would you make it a priority? Or put it off until there was a bigger issue?

All of these questions can be applied to yourself. We are only given one life with one body that has to maintain itself for over 75 years. Why wouldn't you be proactive and care for your body the same way you care for your car, which only has to last for a few years? Why would you procrastinate when there are small issues and wait to seek help until they become bigger issues?

Caring for yourself should be a priority, and it should be done regularly, with the idea to keep the body healthy, functioning efficiently for as long as it can.

Great massage! Lauren tailors it to you. 😄
I have been working with Dr. Grant to address a torn labrum in my right shoulder. I cycle long distance and the pain has been unbearable. Friday Dr. Grant worked on my shoulder for an hour forcing the should back into place. It was amazing that immediately afterward I felt no shoulder pain. I proceeded to go on a three hour hard bike ride and my shoulder NEVER went out of joint. Dr. Grant is amazing. I was told I needed a shoulder replacement by well known ortho but as long as I can have Dr. Grant work his magic I will pass.
This place is fantastic!!!! Dr.Grant has been spot on for my issues and after seeing him I move on to Lauren for an incredible massage experience. A weekly experience I look forward to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
