If hearing loss is diagnosed, we will then refer the child to an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) physician and dispensing audiologist for a hearing aid consultation.
TREATMENT & THERAPY PROGRAMS
-Teach compensation strategies
-Recommend appropriate environmental accommodations
-Provide assistive devices
-Activites to "teach" the brain how to handle specific auditory experiences
-"Learning to Hear Again" (I.e. aural rehab) to learn to deal with the difficulties
-Referral to hearing aid dispenser for hearing aids
Typically, the rehabilitation program for APD starts with 14 sessions over 7 weeks. Upon completion of the program, we will conduct a reassessment to determine if further therapy is needed- no matter the age of the patient.
