🩷 World Mental Health Day | October 10th 🩷

A gentle reminder that mental health matters—not just today, but every single day. 🧠

Behind every smile, there may be a struggle we cannot see. Everyone is navigating something, and sometimes the bravest thing we can do is ask for help, set a boundary, take a break, or simply give ourselves permission to not be okay.

✨ You are allowed to rest.
✨ You are allowed to ask for help.
✨ You are allowed to put yourself first.
✨ You are worthy of care, compassion, and understanding.

Mental health challenges do not make you weak, and reaching out for support is a sign of strength. Whether you are a child learning to navigate big feelings, a teenager facing the pressures of growing up, or an adult trying to balance all of life's demands, your mental health matters, your feelings matter, and YOU matter. 🩷

Let's continue to break the stigma, check in on one another, and create spaces where everyone feels safe enough to ask for help.

Remember, you don't have to wait until things feel overwhelming to prioritize your mental health. You deserve support in the hard seasons, too.

Life is tough, but so are YOU!

Have you ever reacted in the heat of the moment and wished you could take it back five minutes later?

Maybe you sent the message. Raised your voice. Said something harsher than you meant. Walked away. Agreed to something you did not want. Or made a decision while your emotions were running the show.

Strong emotions can make everything feel urgent. But feeling something urgently does not always mean you need to act on it urgently.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is create a tiny gap between the feeling and the reaction.

Not to ignore what you feel.

Not to pretend you are fine.

Just to give yourself enough time to choose what happens next.

That small pause can change an entire conversation. 💜

Save this for the next time everything feels urgent.

I have four children. Three are living, and Chanell is my forever 11.

When someone asks how many children I have, there is sometimes a pause before I answer. If I say four, I may have to explain that one of my daughters died. Then I have to watch the person’s expression change and decide how much of my story I am emotionally prepared to share.

If I say three, the conversation may be easier, but the answer does not feel complete. It can feel as though I have left Chanell out of a family she will always belong to.

Both answers can hurt. Both answers can require more from a grieving mother than the person asking could ever realize.

Some days we speak openly about the child we lost. Other days we protect our hearts because we do not have the energy to explain. Neither choice changes how many children we have or how deeply we love them.

How do you answer when someone asks how many children you have?

Are you experiencing thoughts like these?

A scary thought can feel so real that it leaves you thinking, “What does this say about me?”

But an intrusive thought is not a wish, a plan or a prediction. It can be a sudden image, urge or fear that goes completely against who you are. Thoughts about harm, losing control, something terrible happening, or doing something out of character can be deeply upsetting, especially when they go against your values.

The more you try to prove the thought is untrue, push it away or work out exactly why it appeared, the louder it can seem. Try naming it: “That’s an intrusive thought.” Then gently bring your attention back to what is in front of you.

You are not bad for having a frightening thought. **A thought is not an action.**

If these thoughts are taking over your day or leaving you feeling unsafe, please speak to someone you trust or a mental health professional. You do not have to carry the shame alone.

In a relationship, unspoken expectations can create so much chaos… satan gets a foothold and can rip apart the most important relationships in your life. Don’t let satan have a foothold in your relationships. Communicate expectations and be willing to hear what the other person needs as well. Healthy communication produces healthy relationships…
