Apparently, it’s National Boss’s Day… and my staff made sure I knew it! 🥹💐

I don’t often think of myself as “the boss.” I think of myself as someone who hopes to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people whose paths cross mine.

But today, my medical assistant and clinic manager, Shantelle, made me pause and feel appreciated. Look at this thoughtful surprise! ❤️

, thank you for this gift—and for everything you do for our clients and for me. The care you give, the details you handle, and the heart you bring to Rejuvenate mean so much.

Today may be Boss’s Day, but I’m taking a moment to celebrate YOU. You are seen, valued, and so appreciated. 💕

You run the meeting. Manage the household. Remember everybody’s everything.

But halfway through a sentence, you cannot find the word for… the thing. You know. THE THING. 🤦🏾‍♀️

Then comes the scary thought: “What is happening to my brain?”

Let’s talk about perimenopause.

Hormonal changes can affect memory and concentration. Add disrupted sleep, night sweats, and a full mental load, and your usual sharpness can feel harder to access.

That experience is real. It doesn’t automatically mean dementia—and it deserves more than “you’re just stressed.”

But we also shouldn’t blame every symptom on hormones.

Here’s where I want you to start:

• Track when it happens. How did you sleep? Has your cycle changed? Any new medications?
• Tell your provider how it affects your life. “I’m forgetting tasks at work” tells us more than “I feel off.”
• Ask what else needs checking. Depending on your history, that may include thyroid function, iron, B12, blood sugar, sleep, and mood.
• Discuss perimenopause as part of the picture. A hormone number alone won’t explain the whole story.

And tell us whether attention struggles are new or have been there since childhood. That timeline matters.

At Rejuvenate Health and Wellness, we look at the whole woman—because your brain, sleep, hormones, and everyday life are connected.

You deserve answers and a plan.

Save this for your next appointment. And tell me: What word has your brain recently decided to hold hostage?

You didn’t suddenly forget how to eat at 45. So why are your labs acting brand new? 👀

Your cholesterol is climbing. Your insulin is higher. Your waistline is changing—even though you’re doing many of the same things you’ve always done.

And “eat better and exercise” leaves you wondering… okay, but WHAT changed?

Let’s talk about perimenopause.

As estrogen fluctuates and trends lower, your body can change how it handles cholesterol, stores fat, and responds to insulin. Your pancreas may work harder to keep blood sugar in range—so insulin can rise before glucose looks abnormal.

Now add broken sleep, ongoing stress, and possibly an underactive thyroid. That deserves a closer look. I also want to hear about your digestion, energy, cycle changes, and night sweats.

This is why I look at the whole woman.

Here’s where you can start:

• Build meals around protein, vegetables, and fiber. Keep the beans and berries.
• Walk for 10 minutes after a meal. Your muscles have a job to do.
• Add strength training twice a week.
• Give sleep an actual place on your calendar.
• Review your labs AND hormone symptoms with your provider.

Curious about a CGM? A guided trial can help you connect glucose patterns with meals, movement, stress, and sleep. Use it to learn—not to put every bite on trial.

Swipe through for your first 30 days. We’re building habits and gathering information, not expecting your entire metabolism to meet a month-end deadline.

Save this, and let’s build a plan that fits this season of your life.

Rejuvenate Health and Wellness is hiring a part-time Patient Experience & Operations Coordinator!

We help women navigate perimenopause, menopause, and the changes that come with midlife. That care starts with the first phone call and continues through every appointment, question, and follow-up.

We’re looking for someone who makes people feel cared for AND keeps the details handled. Warmth matters. Follow-through matters just as much.

You might be our person if you:
✨ Keep schedules organized, accurate, and running smoothly.
✨ Communicate clearly and make patients feel welcome.
✨ Follow up with patients and prospective clients without letting things fall through the cracks.
✨ Take initiative, solve problems, and finish what you start.
✨ Feel comfortable with technology and multiple systems.
✨ Bring a thoughtful, dependable approach to a growing practice.

Experience in medical assisting, front or back office, administration, patient coordination, or management could make you a great fit.

You’ll help manage scheduling, patient communication, inquiries, follow-ups, and the daily details that make excellent care possible.

If “I’ve already taken care of it” is your favorite sentence, we’d love to hear from you.

📩 Send your résumé to [email protected] with the subject line: Patient Experience & Operations Coordinator

Starting HRT? That is NOT your cue to stop your antidepressant.

The menopause transition can be a window of vulnerability for depression—especially if you’ve experienced depression before. Hormone fluctuations, disrupted sleep, and everything life is throwing at you can affect how you feel.

That’s why I don’t advise women to stop their antidepressant simply because they’re starting hormone replacement therapy.

HRT and antidepressants can work together when appropriate. Hormone therapy may help with menopause symptoms and improve mood for some women, while antidepressants remain an important part of treating depression.

Feeling better is a reason to check in with your provider. Any medication changes need an individualized plan, and antidepressants should never be stopped abruptly.

At Rejuvenate Health & Wellness, we look at the whole picture: your hormones, mental health, sleep, and medical history.

You deserve to feel like yourself again—with the support that’s right for YOU.

Save this for your next appointment, and follow for more honest conversations about menopause.

You shouldn’t need a medical degree to figure out how to get good healthcare.

Who do you see first? When do you need a specialist? And how do you build a healthcare team that actually works together?

Let’s talk about it—LIVE.

Join me, Dr. Jillian Woodruff, and local healthcare colleagues for a YWCA Alaska Community Conversation on navigating today’s healthcare system.

We’ll unpack different approaches to primary care, insurance and direct care, and how to make more informed choices for your health—especially as your needs change in midlife and beyond.

🎙️ We’re recording this conversation live for The Modern Midlife Collective podcast, and you’re invited to be in the room!

📅 Tuesday, October 13
⏰ 5:30–7:30 p.m.
📍 The Nave, Anchorage
✨ Free and open to the community. Registration required.

You started HRT to feel like yourself again. So why are you still exhausted, anxious, and awake at 3 a.m.? .

HRT isn’t one-and-done. At Rejuvenate, we follow up 6–8 weeks after starting treatment to review your symptoms, side effects, and whether your plan needs adjusting.

We also look beyond hormones: metabolic health, thyroid function, nutrient deficiencies, sleep, and other possible contributors.

And when appropriate, we discuss whether testosterone belongs in your care plan.

Here’s what to ask:
“Can we review my hormone doses, possible side effects, and what else could be causing my symptoms?”

You deserve a clear next step.

Save this for your next appointment, and book a metabolic & hormone assessment with Rejuvenate Health & Wellness through the link in our bio.

49. No hot flashes. Still getting periods. But her libido is GONE. 👀

She’s lifting weights, staying active, eating well, and doing all the “right” things… yet she’s struggling with fatigue, slower recovery, and absolutely ZERO s*x drive.

So she’s wondering, “Do I really need hormone therapy, or should I wait until things get worse?”

Here’s what I want women to understand. 👇🏽

✨ You don’t need hot flashes to be experiencing hormonal changes.

✨ Not every symptom in midlife is caused by hormones.

✨ Low libido deserves attention, even when everything else seems fine.

✨ HRT isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution.

And I LOVE that her provider is investigating other potential causes before recommending treatment. That’s what individualized care should look like!

You don’t have to wait until you’re miserable to prioritize your health. 💗

📍Alaska women, at Rejuvenate Health & Wellness, we help you get answers and make informed decisions about your hormonal and metabolic health.

💕 Ready to understand what’s changing? Book your metabolic and hormone assessment through the link in our bio.
