been thinking about I Love You Rituals by Dr. Becky Bailey and one of my favorite things about the book: the hand story. ❤️ I have used this book over and over to heal not only my self, juvenile center kids, families and even couples.
There’s something so powerful about taking a person’s hand, tracing their fingers, and telling then how much you see their value.
It’s such a simple thing, but think about what happens in that moment. You’re slowing down. You’re connecting through touch. You’re giving that person your undivided attention. And you’re creating a memory they can carry with them.
When I think about my own childhood and what I share in Shattered Unicorns, I think about how much those moments would have meant to the little girl I was.
Not another toy. Not a perfect parent. Just someone taking the time to really see me.
That’s what I love about Dr. Becky Bailey’s work. Connection doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Sometimes it’s right there in the palm of a your hand.
And here’s what I want us to remember: It’s never too late to create moments of connection. Whether your children are little, teenagers, or grown adults, those moments still matter.
Sometimes the smallest rituals leave the biggest fingerprints on our lives. ❤️
