Frequent trips to the bathroom, interrupted sleep or the feeling that your bladder is never completely empty can become more common as men age. While these symptoms can be frustrating, they may also be signs of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

BPH is a common condition in aging men that occurs when the prostate becomes enlarged. Although it is not cancer, its symptoms can interfere with sleep, daily activities and overall quality of life.

Talking with a health care provider can help determine the cause of these symptoms and identify treatment options that may provide relief.
