IMMUNE SUPPORT: START WITH THE FOUNDATION
Cold and flu season brings plenty of products promising to “boost” immunity.

But your immune system is far more complex than something you simply turn up.

The fundamentals still matter:
→ Consistent, adequate sleep
→ Regular physical activity
→ Enough calories, protein, vitamins and minerals
→ Staying hydrated
→ Managing stress
→ Addressing nutrient deficiencies when present
→ Appropriate preventive care based on your individual health needs

Supplements can be a useful addition when they support those needs—but they work best as part of the foundation, not as a replacement for it.

This month, our immune-support supplements are on sale:
BUY 1 ITEM → SAVE 10%
BUY 2 OR MORE → SAVE 20%

If you’re not sure which option makes sense for you, ask us about the differences between MitoCORE, OrthoMune, Viracid, and ViraKid.

Health isn’t something you build just to measure on paper.
It should allow you to participate in life.

Fall gives us plenty of opportunities here in Pennsylvania:
Apple orchards.
Pumpkin patches.
Hiking.
Football games.
Long walks in cooler weather.
Fall festivals.
Yard projects.
Time outside with family.

Maybe you can walk farther this year.
Maybe that hill feels easier.
Maybe your shoulder doesn’t stop you from carrying things.
Maybe you have enough energy to actually enjoy the entire day.

That’s the point.
BUILD IT. USE IT. ENJOY Life!

WHAT DOES PROGRESS ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE?

Progress isn’t always a dramatic before-and-after.

Sometimes it looks like:
→ Walking farther before discomfort starts
→ Needing fewer breaks
→ Sleeping through the night more often
→ Recovering faster after activity
→ Lifting something you used to avoid
→ Having fewer “bad days”
→ Moving without thinking about every step
→ Feeling confident enough to try something new

One of the easiest ways to overlook progress is to keep measuring yourself against where you WANT to be instead of remembering where you STARTED.

This month, take inventory.
What can you do today that was difficult 3, 6, or 12 months ago?

HARVEST RESILIENCE

LESS DAYLIGHT. DIFFERENT RHYTHM.

Have you notice your energy levels feeling a little different lately? It could be due to the darker mornings and less sunlight in the evenings.

Light is one of the major signals your body uses to regulate its internal clock.

As daylight decreases, this is a good time to pay attention to:
→ Consistent sleep and wake times
→ Getting outside earlier in the day
→ Keeping regular exercise habits
→ Reducing very bright light late at night
→ Not allowing shorter evenings to turn into dramatically less movement

Your environment is changing.
Your routine may need to change with it.
That’s seasonal resilience.

HARVEST RESILIENCE

October is here—and with it comes a season of change.
Over the past few months, we’ve focused on building a better foundation and putting that foundation to work.

This month, we’re shifting the focus to recognizing the progress you’ve made, adapting to new demands, and continuing to build resilience.

HARVEST RESILIENCE is about more than simply “getting through” the season.

It’s about:
→ Recognizing how far you’ve come
→ Measuring progress in ways that actually matter
→ Updating your goals as your body becomes more capable
→ Adapting to colder weather, shorter days, and changing routines
→ Maintaining strength, mobility, and recovery
→ Preparing for fall activities, sports, yard work, and real-life demands
→ Supporting sleep, immunity, energy, and overall wellness
→ Getting outside and enjoying everything fall in Pennsylvania has to offer

Your environment changes.
Your routines change.
Your body’s demands change.
Your health habits should adapt with them.

PROGRESS TAKES PATIENCE

At the beginning of a new wellness regimen, change can be easy to notice.

You hurt less.
You move better.
You sleep more comfortably.
You can do things that were difficult just a few weeks ago.

Then progress starts to slow down. The big improvements become smaller. The changes take longer to notice.

And you start wondering:
“Am I still making progress?”
“Am I doing the right things?”

This is often where people feel like they’ve hit a wall.
But progress rarely happens in a perfectly straight line.

As your body adapts, improvement may become more gradual. What once felt like a major change may now show up in smaller ways — a little more endurance, better mobility, fewer bad days, faster recovery, or greater confidence doing something that used to bother you.

THIS MAY ALSO BE THE TIME TO UPDATE THE GOAL.

Maybe the original goal was simply to become more functional.
Now it could be:
→ Walk farther without discomfort
→ Try an activity you wouldn’t have considered before
→ Lift heavier weights
→ Spend longer periods of time on your feet
→ Recover faster after activity
→ Move or work out without constantly thinking about the problem

If progress has slowed, don’t automatically assume you’ve stopped improving.

Look at how far you’ve come.
Reassess what still needs work.
Set the next goal.
Then keep building.

Progress isn’t always dramatic. Sometimes it’s simply becoming capable of a little more than you were before.

And if you’re doing well, don’t be afraid to raise the bar. Your next step may be building more strength, endurance, mobility, or confidence than you originally thought possible.

If you’d like guidance on how to safely progress your activity or whether you’re ready for the next step, ask Dr. Brennan at your next visit.

WORK SMARTER THIS FALL

Fall cleanup season is here.

Trimming bushes, cutting back summer plants, cleaning out flower beds, moving pots and outdoor furniture, and getting ready for leaf cleanup can place a lot of physical demand on the body.

The right tools can help you reduce unnecessary strain and work more efficiently.

A few examples:

→ Back-saving bag filler — less bending while filling yard-waste bags
→ Telescoping rake — better reach with less repetitive bending
→ Hand truck or dolly — less carrying when moving pots, mulch, or furniture
→ Long-handled pruners — less overreaching and less shoulder strain
→ Garden kneeler — less pressure on the knees and easier transitions up and down
→ Long-handled weeder — less kneeling and less bending close to the ground

Small changes in how you work can make a big difference in how your body feels later.

The goal isn’t to avoid fall projects.
It’s to work smarter, move safer, and reduce unnecessary strain on your body.

PATIENT STORY | FROM YEARS OF SHOULDER PAIN TO BARELY NOTICING IT!

Lavon's shoulder problems began with a snowboarding injury in high school. Although it initially improved, the pain gradually returned about eight years ago and became chronic over the past year and a half.

His shoulder popped with almost every movement. Pain disrupted his sleep, aggravated his workday, and had become mentally exhausting.

After trying chiropractic care elsewhere without finding relief, Lavon attended one of our shockwave therapy seminars and decided to schedule an examination.

THE EXAMINATION

Dr. Brennan identified chronic shoulder tendinopathy and recommended shockwave therapy.

“The exam was very easy and thorough. Within less than a couple minutes, he knew what was wrong and how to fix it. No one else could figure that out before.” — Lavon M.

8 SHOCKWAVE TREATMENTS

Following the course of treatment, Lavon reported:

→ Significantly less shoulder pain
→ The constant popping stopped
→ Improved range of motion
→ Better comfort during the day and at night
→ No more shoulder pain during work

Today, most days he barely notices his shoulder anymore!

His advice?

“I would highly recommend coming in and getting an exam from Dr. Brennan to see if shockwave can help you.”

BUILT FOR WHAT’S NEXT

Our goal is to identify and address the underlying problem—not simply mask the pain. For Lavon, improving shoulder comfort and function meant getting back to everyday life without constantly thinking about his shoulder.

Thank you, Lavon, for allowing us to share your story!

THE LAST DAY OF SUMMER!

What did you enjoy most this summer?

Lake days, family vacations, walks around the neighborhood, backyard projects, golf, pickleball, hiking, or simply spending more time outside?

Whatever your summer looked like, we hope it gave you opportunities to enjoy the people and activities that matter most.

As we trade beach days for football games, summer evenings for fall festivals, and green landscapes for changing leaves, there's plenty more to look forward to here in Lebanon County before it gets too cold.

The activities may change with the seasons, but the goal remains the same: keep doing what you enjoy!

Here's to a great summer and everything fall has in store!

Tell us: What's one summer activity you'll miss—or one fall activity you're looking forward to? Or did you make a positive change to your health or accomplish a goal you're proud of?
