One week ago, at 10:17pm, we welcomed our miracle baby. Jack Elliot Uitenbroek is thriving in NICU, just waiting to get a little bigger before he can come home. He’s been a miracle since day 1. He made it 32 weeks in utero with lots of challenges - and he continues to do better than expected on the outside! Nothing has been normal or as expected this entire pregnancy! We’ve been given amazing care by the Anesthesiologist who was the hands of God to save my life in a very tenuous c-section with major blood loss. And a heroic Neonatologist who saw what we saw as a risky scenario and supported us completely in taking Jack out while he was still strong and battle-ready. And our brave and relentless Midwife who stayed with us from 6am till 1am to ensure we were heard and safe. The gates of Heaven have been flooded with prayers for all of us. And we are so thankful.

Goldie update for his many fans who've noticed his changed demeanor:

💧we are evaluating the water
🩺assessing his symptoms
💊 and he started a course of antibiotics today

We need to remind ourselves he's 10 years old and it may be his time. But also, AI told us it might be a bacterial infection, so we'll treat and hope for the best!

Looking for a creative way to get your kiddo some exercise and to learn a new skill? We have really enjoyed working with Carl at the Wisconsin Academy of Sports. Our youngest son participated in a casual fall soccer league and we felt he would benefit from some more formal training. Carl has worked with him 1:1 and was patient, creative, provided an individualized training plan, and made it such a great experience. Consider checking them out!
