🦋 September is Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month

Thyroid cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting the endocrine system, and early detection and specialized care can make a difference.

At Fox Valley Surgical Specialists, patients receive coordinated thyroid care from a team of experienced endocrine specialists. Our team includes endocrinologist Dr. Malik, endocrine surgeon Dr. Mitchell, and advanced practice providers Christine Arendt, APNP; Beau Brackey, DNP, APNP; and Katie Erstad, APNP.

Some thyroid cancers are discovered after a thyroid nodule is found during an exam or imaging for another reason. While most thyroid nodules are not cancerous, it’s important to have concerning or changing nodules properly evaluated.

This September, we’re raising awareness and encouraging patients to pay attention to their thyroid health. 🩵💜

⛳️ Yesterday, members of the Fox Valley Surgical Specialists team were proud to participate in the Swing for a Mission golf outing!

This event brings our community together to support individuals and families impacted by cancer, while helping fund programs and resources that make a meaningful difference in the lives of local patients.

We are grateful for the opportunity to support such an important cause and spend the day alongside others who share a commitment to making a difference.
