Before it was Limestone Drug…

This photo was taken inside Westmoreland Drugs in the early 1900s, in the same downtown Athens location that would later become the original location of Limestone Drug.

I love photos like this because they make the history feel real. The wooden floors, the shelves, the old pharmacy counters, and even the fountain remind you just how long this building has been part of everyday life in Athens.

Different name. Different generation. Same purpose — serving this community.

We’re fortunate to be carrying on a story that started long before us.

Bones is back and ready for the Fiddlers Convention🪕💀!!

If you’re in Athens for the Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention, make the short walk over to the square and come see us at Limestone Drug!

Bones has traded in his usual look for a lab coat and banjo this year, and he’ll be holding down his usual spot at the fountain. 😂

While you’re here, grab a fresh-squeezed Limestone Lemonade, Sundrop slushie, ice cream, or something from the fountain.
