Nursing - Excelsior College Associate in Nursing Degrees

CPNE Pass Rate
From July 1, 2018–June 30, 2019, there were 1363 Clinical Performance in Nursing Exams (CPNE) attempted, and 852 (62%) of them were passed. During this time period, 1339 students attempted the exam. Students may attempt the CPNE up to three times.

Pass rates for an alternative, pilot version of the CPNE
The traditional CPNE contains Nursing Simulation Lab (NSL) and Patient Care Situation (PCS) components in a single session. The pilot, which began in April, 2018, offers the opportunity to complete the NSL portion first and, if passed, move on to the PCS in a hospital setting at a later date.

Under this pilot version, from July 1, 2018–June 30, 2019, there were 313 attempts at the NSL portion of the Clinical Performance in Nursing Exams (CPNE) and 266 (85%) of them were passed. During this period, 292 students attempted the NSL portion of the exam. Also between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019, there were 192 attempts at the PCS portion of the CPNE, of which 154 (80%) were passed. During this time period, 180 students attempted the PCS portion of the exam. Students may attempt each part of the CPNE up to three times.

Can someone help me this? If I am assigned Abdominal Assessment, and pt has an NG tube, two questions: 1. Should I suspend a continuous NG feeding to auscultate bowel sounds? Nothing in study guide or scoring tool, and couldn't find in Brunner or Treas. I am thinking NO. It would take at least half an hour of digestion time, and that's too long for a patient on continuous feed. They would lose calories. Obviously I am not putting this patient in supine, due to continuous feed. 2. Next scenario: Patient has an NG tube with intermittent feed, say an hour ago. Or maybe the tube is just for decompression and intermittent suction. Is it still contraindicated to have this patient lie flat for the abdominal assessment? I still need to keep them at a minumum of 30 degrees at all times. I think so. Can someone please clarify? 🙂 Thanks! Happy Labor Day, Nurses
I took the virtual CONE in June and failed miserably. I've in a LPN for 28 years. All of the nursing things I had no problem with because of all my experience they care plans killed me. I had been out of the real classroom for so many years and what we do in the real world with care plans is so different. I Started looking around on YouTube and found ATL videos the back to basic care plan was what I focused on the video was amazing and I slayed the CPNE yesterday. THERE'S NO WAY I WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PASS IF I WOULDN'T HAVE FOUND THIS TUTORIAL. I only wish I would have found it sooner and I could have saved myself $1, 500.00. thank you Ms. Taylor from the bottom of my heart. ❤️ Now on to my NCLEX.
It’s been a very long journey. Thank you Sheri and Greg for helping me get there.
Virtual NSL on Friday the 26th. I have a question. Will they send an IV minibag? I can't imagine how difficult it would be to send that in the mail. Plus I am nervous about that. I have never set a drip rate for gravity bag. 😫
Taking the virtual NSL on Friday and I am wondering, will I get a mini bag? I find it hard to believe there will be an IV pole and all of that stuff in the supplies box.
Hi there, please let me know if this isn't allowed ❤️ I have a tote full of clinical supplies even though I passed a year ago WOOOOO! If anyone is interested send me a message. Pics in the comments. Good luck slayers! 🙌
Just got my ATI and logged in. Where do I start. Somebody please help!!
Just received!
Would anyone like NSL supplies? I’m paying it forward, just pay shipping! 😊 Everything isn’t pictured. I also have flushes, syringes to practice med station,PICC dressing kits, catheter trays, gloves, sterile gloves, vials to practice med station, and tape.
i'm starting to study and I have a question about the grid. For the Fluid Mgmt box/20 min check? If we aren't assigned Fluid mgmt do we still do the 20min check with o2 and iv fluids? Do we only do this when we are assigned Fluid mgmt and i&o?
This site is not very user friendly when trying to cancel subscription. There is no “account” tab to select to then cancel subscription. There is a lot to gain from using this group but not looking forward to being charged when I can’t cancel and emails sent for help to cancel.
My friend referred me to your workshop but She didn't call you before hand, is she still eligible to receive the 50$?
