A Letter to My 65-Year-Old Self.

Have you ever written a letter to yourself?

I do periodically and realize so many things about my past that have shaped my present and future.

So many changes I never considered or planned.

Becoming a personal trainer at 65.

Joining a talent agency for acting and commercial booking.

Becoming an advocate for positive aging through content creation.

Inspiring older adults on healthy aging through speaking and fitness training.

Turning 65 was an exciting time with many unexpected changes.

Something I did expect is turning 65 would mean making important decisions about my healthcare. I wanted a care team and plan that supported my current and future self.

Even though I’d been an advocate for healthy living, I realize you can’t always avoid life’s challenges.

One year after turning 65, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I’m so grateful, I chose healthcare that provided the best treatment to navigate through that chapter.

The right healthcare is an investment into your future.

That’s why I’m excited to partner with . They focus exclusively on caring for adults 60 plus helping them stay healthy, connected and engaged.

My 65-year-old-self was ten years ago. Now at 75, my advice to anyone approaching 65, it would be this: don't rush the decision. Take the time to understand your options and find a care team that's right for you. Your future you will thank you.

Healthy Habits for Better Health

I enjoy my Saturday morning adventures at local farmers markets. There’s something special about being outdoors, exploring the market, and selecting fresh, farm-to-market produce. It inspires me to make choices that support a healthier lifestyle.

Eating healthy is part of being healthy, but healthy habits are about more than what we eat.

Making the right healthcare choices is just as important as choosing the right fruits and vegetables.

To me, having “More Life Ahead” means having the health, relationships, and support to keep doing the things you love.

That’s why I’m proud to partner with ArchWell Health, whose mission is helping older adults live healthier lives through preventive care, connection, and community.

As a nine-year breast cancer survivor, I am honored to share my personal story about exercise after surgery. My hope is to inspire and encourage others on their Journey Back to Healthy.
My diagnosis didn’t stop me, it motivated me. It reminded me of the importance of staying proactive about my health and being fully informed about breast cancer and breast care. Knowledge is power, and it’s an essential part of the healing process.

Movement is one of the most important things you can do with a breast cancer diagnosis. With approval from your medical professional (which is very important), getting your body in motion can be incredibly restorative—not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually, too. It’s a key to healing.

I embrace the opportunity to step up, speak out, and deliver a message of hope and healing after diagnosis and treatment.

That’s the beauty of survivorship: God will equip you with the resources and guidance you need, even through your own healing journey.

I pray these simple exercises will help get you started on daily routines and help navigate the perils of survivorship. Please feel free to reach out if you’re seeking more information, encouragement, or bookings.
Please like and share. You are not alone in this journey.

As a golfer who’s still a “learner in progress,” I do a lot of guessing with my golf shots.

I may calculate the shot for one direction, and somehow the ball ends up somewhere completely different!

Just like my golf game, life can be unpredictable.

When I turned 65, life was about more than picking up a new sport. It was also a time when choosing the right Medicare coverage was important to help me navigate life’s unexpected challenges.

And I know it can feel overwhelming.

That’s why I like Mutual of Omaha’s Medicare Advice Center. It’s a free, simple tool that can help you understand your Medicare options. By answering just a few questions, it will provide a free Medicare plan recommendation, giving you more confidence and some peace of mind.

If you’re thinking about Medicare, take the second-guessing out of understanding your options with Mutual of Omaha’s Medicare Advice Center.

I recently attended a fabulous 60th birthday celebration. Welcome to your 60s! 🎉

Although it’s really never too early to start thinking ahead, I thought, “She has five more years before she’ll be eligible for Medicare.”

It made me think about my own experience. Honestly, I didn’t think much about Medicare until I was approaching 65. Then I went into panic mode because I knew I needed to enroll, but I had very little knowledge about how Medicare worked.

If you’re approaching 65, you’ve probably started hearing terms like Medicare, enrollment periods and Medicare Advantage.

The good news? You’re definitely not alone.

More than half of Medicare-eligible beneficiaries are enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans today.

If Medicare Advantage is the right fit for you, ArchWell Health provides primary care designed specifically for older adults enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans. Their focus is on building relationships and helping people stay healthy through every season of life.

If you’re approaching 65—or helping a loved one navigate Medicare—visit ArchWellHealth.com to see if there’s a center near you.

Because 65 isn’t the end of the road. It can be the beginning of another great chapter.
