At the age of four I was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes and always felt different than everyone else, which made me see my disease as nothing but a negative for so long. After being introduced to healing stones at the age of 13 by my mom gifting and teaching me the benefits of Jade, I found comfort in the idea of a “rock” having such a powerful meaning and it soon became my daily reminder. I became more and more interested in the world of gemstones; began doing my own research, and fully using them as daily reminders through their meanings for myself. I guess with setting my focus on learning and utilizing the power and meaning of gemstones they took me out my little bubble of emotions I had in having something I could not change nor that could be cured and helped me realize it wasn’t a weakness and it doesn’t need to control my life. Not soon after, I not only saw my negative in this light, but negative’s people live through in their everyday lives, and in that I saw an opportunity to share what not only got me through a negative, but changed my entire perspective of it. This was the birth of Kuponya. (Now Nivo)
