🌿 If you are local, you are feeling all the harvest and high pollen allergies hitting you hard right now — your body has been trying to tell you something.

Why are you miserable reaching for Claritin or Zyrtec and the next person is fine!?!

Here’s something most people don’t realize, seasonal allergies aren’t just a pollen problem. They are a reflection of how well your body’s systems are functioning underneath the surface. When your organs are overburdened and your gut is struggling, your immune system becomes hypersensitive and allergy season hits harder.

Here is what I work on this time of year

1. Gut Health First

It always starts in the gut. A compromised gut means a hypersensitive immune system. If your gut lining is inflamed and your microbiome is out of balance, your body is going to overreact to everything — including pollen.

2. Quercetin — Nature’s Antihistamine

Quercetin is a naturally occurring plant compound that works by preventing immune cells from releasing histamines — the chemicals driving your runny nose, watery eyes, hives, and facial swelling. This is one of my go-to tools this season.

3. Reduce High-Histamine Foods

If your body is already in an inflammatory state, high-histamine foods will pour gasoline on the fire.

4. Minimize Dairy

Dairy can thicken mucous secretions and make congestion significantly worse. If your sinuses are already inflamed, dairy is often adding fuel to the fire.

5. Antronex — My Favorite for the Liver

Think of Antronex as your oil change. Your liver is one of your body’s biggest filters — and when it gets backed up, everything backs up with it — including your sinuses. Antronex supports liver detoxification and is one of my absolute favorites for clearing out congestion and sinus pressure.

6. Allerplex — Calming the Sensitivity

Allerplex is a whole food supplement that works to reduce your body’s sensitivity to environmental allergens like pollen, mold, and dust. Rather than just masking symptoms, it supports the systems that are overreacting in the first place.

7. Sinus Forte — Breathing Support

Sinus Forte helps maintain healthy mucus secretion in the nasal passages, supports healthy mucous membranes, promotes normal breathing passages, and even supports outer ocular health. For those dealing with significant sinus and eye symptoms — this one is a game changer.

A few other targeted options I love this season: DrainageTone, Histaplex, Allernest, Allerchord, and Phyto Rad — depending on what your body specifically needs.

The goal here is never just to suppress your symptoms with an OTC pill and white-knuckle your way through it all.

The goal is to get to the root of why your body is reacting the way it is — and give it what it needs to respond normally again.

That’s the Sol Natural Health way.

The women coming to me for exhaustion keep getting younger.

It's not just the 55-year-old deep in hot flashes. It's the ambitious, busy, should-be-in-the-prime-of-her-life 30 yr old something who tells me she feels 80.

She's tired when she wakes up. Brain fog by 2 pm. Wide awake at 3 in the morning staring at the ceiling.

She tells her doctor she's exhausted, but everything looks "normal."

Ive taken seminars on hormones. Here's what I've learned: It's not just about hormones.

Yes, hormones change as we age. But long before that happens, our bodies are dealing with stuff our grandmothers never had to fight.

Plastics in our water. Chemicals in our cookware and cleaning products. Processed food everywhere and a nervous system that rarely leaves fight-or-flight, and our gut is trying to do ancestral work in conditions no ancestor ever met.

Our guts are trying to do their job in conditions they were never built for. Our adrenals are completely burned out.

So by the time a woman reaches 39 or 40, she might already be:

Not digesting well
Not absorbing nutrients
Dealing with gut dysbiosis
Carrying a higher toxic load
Struggling to produce energy at the cellular level
High inflammation
Chronic Stress

Then her hormones start to shift.

Now she's got multiple problems at once. And all the hormone support in the world won't fix a system that's already struggling.

That's why I don't just ask about estrogen and progesterone. I ask:

How well are you digesting? Are you absorbing nutrients? How are your adrenals functioning? How's your thyroid working? How's your liver processing everything?

Because your gut, thyroid, adrenals, and liver are all connected. They're not separate problems—they're one system.

If the real problem is your digestion, your thyroid, your adrenals, or your liver—and you're only supporting hormones—you'll keep feeling exhausted.

The answer isn't one thing. It's everything working together.

That's what I look for in bloodwork and HTMA. The whole picture.

Fall Mornings Look Different Around Here 🍂☀️

Now that we're heading into fall and winter, I'm waking up in the dark. That morning sunlight I love so much in summer just isn't there when my day starts.

So I've added red light therapy to my morning routine. 🔴

Red light supports your cells' energy production (hello, mitochondria!) and can help with skin health, muscle recovery, inflammation, and overall healing. It's one way I give my body some of the light-based benefits I'm missing on these darker mornings.

But here's the thing: it's not a replacement for the real thing. 🌅 Once the sun comes up, I still try to get outside, even for just 5–10 minutes. Natural morning light helps set your internal clock, supports energy and mood, and helps you sleep better at night.

My simple fall/winter light routine:
✨ Red light first thing while I wake up with breathing exercises
✨ Step outside once the sun rises
✨ Get outside again midday when I can

Small habits, big impact, especially as the days get shorter! 💛

Do you have a fall/winter routine that helps you feel your best? Tell me below!

Free and easy weight loss tip…..Walk after you eat- when you move your muscles you burn that glucose faster. You flatten the blood sugar spike, avoid the energy crash and keep your blood sugar stable. It’s not just about weight loss. It’s about metabolic health. No time or it’s raining a handful of squats does the same thing build the habit your body will thank you.

Do you lift!?! Even my 75 year old mom lifts weights 3 times a week.

As we age, some of us are starting to see some weight gain, especially around the midsection and your doctor might blame it on your hormones changing.

Technically true. But also incomplete.

Here's what actually happens: Estrogen declines as we age. Then insulin sensitivity drops. Glucose disposal becomes less efficient. Fat shifts toward your abdomen. Visceral fat increases inflammation. Your metabolism gets worse.

This is exactly when you need to build muscle.

Muscle is one of the largest glucose sinks in your body. When you lift weights, your muscles pull glucose without relying on insulin. You're literally managing your blood sugar through muscle contraction.

But here's the terrible advice women get: "Eat less. Do more cardio."

So they restrict calories. Lose muscle. Their metabolism crashes. They become exhausted and sedentary. They end up eating less food with worse body composition.

That's not menopause. That's self-sabotage.

The real answer: Build and preserve muscle. Eat enough protein. Walk after meals. Sleep. Lift weights 3-4x a week.

The woman lifting weights, eating enough, and sleeping creates a completely different metabolic environment than the woman restricting calories and avoiding the weights.

Your estrogen may change, but your physiology still responds to the signals you give it.

Stop treating muscle like an aesthetic accessory. It's your metabolic armor.

Tired all the time. Always cold. Hair thinning, cycles unpredictable, weight that won't move, moods that come out of nowhere.

So many women tell me they've been living like this for years, and they keep hearing their labs are "normal” or hand you a prescription.

Often, three things are working together behind the scenes:

🔸 Insulin resistance: High insulin pushes the ovaries to make more androgens.
🔸 PCOS (PMOS): Those extra androgens disrupt ovulation and throw cycles off.
🔸 Thyroid: A sluggish thyroid slows your metabolism and makes insulin resistance worse.

Each one feeds the others. Because the symptoms overlap, one gets treated while the other two go unnoticed.

Your symptoms are real, and they make sense once you see how everything connects. Blood sugar, thyroid, nutrients, inflammation, stress, and sleep all matter. When we address them together, your body finally has what it needs to do what it was designed to do.

If this sounds like you, send me a message. I'd love to help you find your

Acupuncture Isn't Just for Pain

It regulates your nervous system. Calms cortisol. Improves digestion. Supports hormone balance. Enhances sleep. And so much more!

For menopausal women—hot flashes, night sweats, anxiety, insomnia—acupuncture can be a game-changer.

Layered on top of solid fundamentals (minerals, food, sleep), it accelerates healing.

My friend just opened her acupuncture and Chinese medicine practice, and she's amazing. If you're looking for someone who gets it, check her out.

Are You Exhausted, Losing Hair, and Freezing? Do You Know Your Ferritin Number?

Your yearly physical comes back "normal."

But you're exhausted. You're losing hair. Your brain is foggy. You're freezing all the time. You can't recover from workouts.

Your doctor says everything is fine.

Bet they didn't check your ferritin.

Here's what I see constantly: Women with ferritin levels of 9, 11, 15, 20, 30. Their doctor says "normal" because the lab's reference range goes down to around 15.

But "normal" on paper ≠ optimal in your body.

Optimal ferritin is 50-100. That's what your body actually needs to function. Below 50? You're iron-deficient at the tissue level. Your thyroid can't convert T4 to T3. Your mitochondria can't produce energy. Your hair falls out. You feel like garbage.

And most doctors don't even run ferritin on your yearly panel. It's not there. You have to ask.

I run ferritin on every single iron panel and thyroid panel—especially for my middle-aged women and beyond. Because it's that important.

If your energy is tanked, your hair is falling out, you're cold all the time, and your doctor said everything is "normal"—ask for your ferritin number.

Bet it's lower than you think.

Message me. Let's run your full iron panel, thyroid and more to see the WHOLE picture and find out what's actually happening.
