Yesterday I did have a 16 year old girl ask if I was 22, she was actually shocked when I said I was 28 and it did make me feel good (as it makes us all right?) BUT it led me to do some reflecting.
I have been a part of the beauty industry for the last 10 years and it led me to introduce natural products to my clients.
Behind the scenes there are a lot of gimmicks.... the biggest one, to me, is that you can "fix" xyz by putting these 10 items on your face and neck everyday! Spend a lot of money, it may work, but once you stop using them you can tell.
While what you put on your skin does play a large role in how your skin looks you guys know what is on the inside matters and lays the foundation right?
Like are you properly hydrated, do you consume adequate antioxidants, do you manage stress in your life, do you eat nourishing foods, are you getting enough vitamins and minerals?
Hey, I'm all for wanting to look or appear a certain way but when did vanity become more important than educating woman on whole body health?
This is your reminder that it's normal to have wrinkles and texture and pores. This is also your reminder that the root cause of some of the things you see on your skin actually come from within.
Holistic wellness looks at the whole picture. Your body works as a whole unit, nothing operates seperately.
I started using Tallow and stopped using foundation, I started using natural hair and skincare and it led me to dig deeper. I started sharing it all with you because knowledge is power!!
When I started nourishing my body I showed it more grace than it's ever seen in its life. When you focus on health from within you see it all has purpose.
