A strong core is important but we need to get priorities straight.
Your “core” is way more than something to get “shredded” or burn out at the end of your workout. In fact, flexing those ”hard-earned” abs constantly could be making your pain symptoms worse.
It’s time we stopped thinking of the core as simply aesthetic and more as a support structure for literally everything we do.
If one major area is not doing its part, something else is going to HAVE TO do the job.
Getting your transverse abdominus, pelvic floor, and diaphragm all online, can go a long way in reducing tension, pain, and helping you move better.
Which could also mean better gains 💪🏼😉
We have been convinced to walk around flexing our abs 24/7 but that is NOT a healthy habit.
Sure, some engagement is necessary to keep us upright. However; just like any other muscle, contracting your abs & pelvic floor muscles all the time is going to create problems eventually. I’ve even been in a yoga class where the instructor actually cued the pelvic floor to be lifted the entire class. 🤯
