35 years after her first bunion surgery, she was ready for a different approach. 👣
Our patient had undergone bunion surgery on her left foot 35 years ago, but over time, the deformity and pain returned. By April, things had gotten progressively worse. Walking through her hilly neighborhood, traveling, and even wearing comfortable shoes had become increasingly painful, sometimes reaching an 8/10.
She tried changing shoes, modifying activities, and finding ways to relieve the discomfort. But she wanted more than another temporary solution.
Fast forward to just 5 weeks after minimally invasive surgery!
This wasn't just a simple bunion correction. We addressed multiple areas of deformity and imbalance using a combination of minimally invasive techniques.
No pins. No screws. No permanent hardware. No large incisions.
Our goal wasn't simply to straighten her big toe. It was to address the underlying structural deformities and soft tissue imbalances contributing to her pain.
At Align Foot & Ankle, we believe surgery should be tailored to the patient, not the other way around. And sometimes, even after a previous bunion surgery, there may be another option.
Just 5 weeks into recovery, and we're excited to see her progress! Healing will continue over the coming months.
If you've been told you need bunion surgery, or you've already had surgery and your bunion has returned, it may be time for a second opinion.
