From the desk of Tom Manley, CEO, TMF Health Quality Institute:

Health Literacy Month is the perfect reminder that clear healthcare communication from leaders, providers and community partners helps people make informed healthcare decisions. Happy Friday!
We made it. YOU made it!

We know that a clear space can clear our minds, but did you know the same applies to digital clutter? From unused apps to duplicate images to unnecessary files, digital clutter can affect our mental well-being as much as physical mess.

If you're not quite ready for a full tech cleanse, try these simple tips:

· Delete unused apps. Remove apps not currently in use to free up space.
· Organize photos and files. Delete duplicates and sort important items into folders.
· Clean your inbox. Unsubscribe from unwanted emails and delete old messages.

These challenges can delay treatment, contribute to worsening symptoms and increase the likelihood that emergency care will be needed.

The final issue of TMF's nine-part series discusses how improved access to behavioral health services, including therapy, crisis intervention, addiction treatment and psychiatric support, helps patients manage conditions before they escalate into emergencies.

Domestic violence is more than physical violence between partners; it can take many forms. Abuse can be psychological, emotional, physical or financial and can occur in many types of relationships.

Older adults and people receiving care can also experience abuse from partners, family members or caregivers. Knowing the signs, listening without judgment and connecting people with support can make a difference.

For more information on how to recognize the signs of domestic abuse and how you can help prevent it, visit https://www.thehotline.org/identify-abuse/
