I launched two treatments at once, which only helps if you can tell which one is yours.

So here's the honest version.

The Prickly Pear & Verde Vine Facial is the deeper one. 75 minutes, $195. A fruit enzyme with brightening actives, then a restorative mask. It's for uneven tone, sun damage, and skin that's carrying the last three months on it. The enzyme is warming and some people feel a real tingle. If yours runs sensitive or reactive, I can buffer it.

The Fall Glow Combo is the lighter one. 45 minutes, $135. Dermaplaning, then a pumpkin mask with a booster I choose for you. No downtime, and it suits nearly every skin type. If you already book dermaplaning, this is just the seasonal version of that appointment.

Short version. Pigment and sun damage, take the facial. Dullness, texture, or sensitive skin, take the Glow. Something on your calendar this week, take the Glow.

ACL is about a month away, and honestly, that’s the real marker of fall around here. Three days at Zilker. Very little shade. Full sun for hours.

And if you know me, you know I’ll be there. Weekend One. Always. ✌️

So here’s your annual September reminder from your esthetician: Reapply your sunscreen.

Not just once in the morning and hope for the best. Every two hours. And again after you’ve been sweating.

One year my EltaMD rep hooked me up with some free sunscreen to take to ACL, and I spent part of the afternoon handing it out to strangers. 😂

At one point while waiting in line for something I had people passing it around and applying SPF while they waited.

Everybody was thrilled. 😆

Because somehow, no matter how much we plan, nobody brings enough sunscreen to ACL.

I’ve got plenty to say about fall treatments, peels, and undoing a summer’s worth of sun exposure and I’ll get to all of that.

But what you do with your skin over the next few weeks matters, too.

Wear the hat. Find the shade when you can. Reapply the SPF.

Fall in Austin is mostly a rumor until October. Your skin knows before you do. 🍂

The only real proof right now is that the sun is going down on my drive home. But three months of heat, sweat and SPF show up in September, not July. Uneven tone. Spots that were faint in May and aren’t faint now. A dullness no amount of moisturizer touches, because it isn’t a hydration problem.

Two new treatments, both built for exactly that.

PRICKLY PEAR & VERDE VINE FACIAL

The third in this year’s Desert Series. A prickly pear and fig enzyme lifts off the summer surface, then a verde vine mask rebuilds the barrier three months of Austin wore down. One honest note. The enzyme is warming and some people feel a real tingle. If your skin runs sensitive or reactive I can buffer it, just tell me when you book.

FALL GLOW COMBO
45 minutes, $135
Dermaplaning first, then Circadia’s Pumpkin Perfecting Mask with a booster I pick based on what your skin is actually doing that day. No downtime. The mask suits nearly every skin type, so if the facial above sounds like more than your skin wants right now, this is the one.

🏆 BEST FACIALS. 🏆 BEST SPA.

🍿“There is no such thing as natural beauty.”

Somebody said that in a Louisiana beauty parlor in 1989. I say it as a joke, because natural is very much the point around here. We’re just helping it along a little.

Anyway…Bene took first place in TWO categories at this year’s Best of ATX, and then came in second for both Small Business Owner and Locally Owned Business. Four placements, in a city where you can’t drive three blocks without passing a spa, med spa, or skin care studio.

New this year, they announced everything live at the party. So I found out standing in a room full of people I admire, holding a drink, completely unprepared. Highly recommend.

I didn’t win this. Y’all did. Every one of you who opened an email, clicked through, and voted for a small skincare studio off a list of hundreds. I still can’t quite believe you did that.

Thank you Austin Monthly Magazine and Austin American-Statesman for throwing a hell of a party. 🤎

Some week soon, you'll wake up to a cool morning, walk into full Austin heat by noon, then sit under blasting AC for the rest of the day. Your skin doesn't get a memo about which season it's actually in.

That whiplash is real, and it's specifically an Austin problem. Indoor air dries out just enough while outdoor heat and UV haven't let up at all, so your skin ends up trying to hold onto moisture and defend against the sun in the same afternoon.

☀️ By the time August rolls into its back half, sunscreen starts to feel like a formality. It's not, especially not in Austin.

Your skin has been doing real recovery work this month, and one skipped week of sun protection can undo more of that than you'd think. This isn't about fear. It's just physics: UV doesn't check the calendar before Labor Day.

Wearing a moisturizer with SPF, every single day, is non-negotiable around here. Rain, shine, or "it's basically fall now," it doesn't matter.

⏰ There's still time for one more treatment built for real Austin summer skin before fall takes over.

This one starts with aloe, cooling and calming down anything summer stirred up, then moves into a copper clay mask that pulls out what three months of heat and sweat left behind. It's not glamorous. Honestly, it's a little messy. But your skin comes out looking like it just took a long exhale.
