✨ Featured Retreat Workshop: Amanda Robinson, LPC-S, RPT-S
Even the strongest therapeutic relationships experience moments of disconnection.
Whether it's a child withdrawing in the playroom, a parent expressing frustration, or a session that doesn't unfold as we'd hoped, rupture is not a sign that therapy has failed. It's an inevitable part of relational work. And when approached with humility, attunement, and intention, it can become one of the most powerful opportunities for healing.
We're excited to welcome Amanda Robinson to the Play Therapy Community Retreat for "Rupture and Repair with Clients and Parents in Play Therapy."
In this experiential workshop, Amanda explores one of the most honest and humanizing aspects of our work: what happens when things go wrong relationally, and how we find our way back. Together, we'll learn how to recognize rupture, respond with attunement, and strengthen the therapeutic relationship through meaningful repair.
Together, we'll explore:
🌿 What rupture looks like in both the therapist-child and therapist-parent relationships
🌿 Common ways children and parents respond to relational disconnection
🌿 Evidence-based strategies for acknowledging mistakes, repairing ruptures, and restoring the therapeutic alliance
Repair isn't about getting it right every time. It's about showing children and families that relationships can withstand moments of disconnection and emerge even stronger.
