Releasing Nov 2026, a new ambient album, The More Than Human World is a sonic bridge between species.
I recorded live interactions of harp, synth, vocals, and plant bio-activity.

Just a short preview here of the sounds.
This will be released on tape cassette! 🪴🌳

And this is part of an ongoing series of live installations I will be doing in Austin related to the theme of plant music, synchronizing to nonhuman time frames, and listening to the land.

Gather among the greenery at Tillery Street Plant Co. for the first installment of The More Than Human World project: an evening dedicated to slowing down and tuning into the gentle rhythms of nature.

This immersive experience brings us into direct conversation with the rose plant through a flower essence making and plant music listening session accompanied with live harp music.

Guest teacher and herbalist, Leighla Molina, Tezcatzin will share indigenous perspectives of working with plants, the benefits of the rose, and discuss the energetic medicine of flower essences.

We will craft a rose essence under the guidance of Leighla while listening to the bio-electric responses of a rose plant. Andrea Cortez will demonstrate how she uses a Midi device to convert the electric fluctuations of a plant into musical notes. Andrea will also accompany the rose with her 26-string electric harp.

What to expect:

🌱A quiet and reflective listening space

🌱Plant and Harp music for relaxation (and meditation if you’d like)

🌱Sip on our homemade Rose Petal Tea while listening

🌱Brief educational sharing about the rose and ways to connect more deeply to nature and plants.

🌱Make a rose essence together. Bring your own tiny glass vile or bottle to take home the rose flower essence that we make

Some benches will be provided, bring a comfy chair if you would like. Some limited floor space also open for sitting on the ground.

Tillery Street Plant Tillery Street Plant Company will be open to shop and purchase plants.

This water gourd drum was brought here from Mexico for tomorrow’s performance Unlisted Projects by Maestro Mazatl David Ehecamazatl.
The drum has such a beautiful resonance of low bass frequencies, you can’t hear them on the phone speakers of course.
You can even see some of the resonance patterns that form in the water while you play the drum. I love it 💧

The More Than Human World project is about
reorienting past human made systems and connecting to the living systems of plants and forests that model collectivism, mutual support, interspecies communication, and nonhuman time frames.

This project is connected to the release of my album and 3 live music installations.

First one is on Oct 22, “Voices of the Garden”

A magical day of capturing video with Raul Seca Jr. 🎥 at McKinney Falls
We were talking about how hard it is to shift out of the fast pace we all have to keep up with, and reconnect to the slowness of nature. Just being out here was a shift. Gazing at the waters, hearing the birds, contacting the ground with bare feet….

The upcoming album, The More Than Human World, is all about this reconnection.

The Healing Art of Music concert

I’m preparing to present at a Nephrology (kidney) conference on how Music Therapy is beneficial in medical settings. I’ve worked in hospital settings and have seen the power of music reducing pain, helping people speak, helping people coordinate movement, and supporting people emotionally.
Music is a medicine that carries beauty and I know this is one of its mechanisms for healing. ❤️‍🩹

From a previous album release of flute and harp with Sarah Jane Hargis 🪈 🪉
We decided to give the audience mandalas to color while we played, since our music is long form and super relaxing this was a great art meditation for them as they listened
