OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM TEAM ADDISON GLOBAL
Help Us Make Addison’s Disease Visible Through Film
Team Addison Global is seeking international support to produce a documentary about living with Addison’s disease.
From July 16 to July 21, 2027, Martin Norrman will take part in a six day expedition between Kulusuk and Tasiilaq in East Greenland. Martin is the founder of the Swedish Addison Association and Team Addison Global. He has worked voluntarily for 23 years to raise awareness of Addison’s disease and improve understanding of life with adrenal insufficiency.
The documentary will follow Martin as he prepares for and completes the expedition while managing a rare, chronic and potentially life threatening condition in one of the most remote environments in the world.
This is not a story about ignoring Addison’s disease or taking unnecessary risks. It is a story about knowledge, correct medication, emergency preparedness, careful planning and respect for the body’s limitations.
In East Greenland, important questions become very real. How do you store essential medication in difficult conditions? How do you prepare for an adrenal crisis? What happens when cold weather, physical exertion, rapidly changing conditions or transportation delays affect the plan? How do you pursue a dream while remaining responsible for your health?
No dangerous situations will be created or staged. The purpose is to document honestly how preparation, knowledge and responsibility can make challenging experiences possible for someone living with Addison’s disease.
Martin will pay the full cost of his own expedition. The financial support raised for the documentary will be used for professional filming, the filmmaker’s travel and accommodation, production equipment, sound, editing, color correction and other essential production expenses.
The completed documentary will be made available free of charge. It will be shared internationally through Team Addison Global, Addison and adrenal disease organizations, patient communities and social media.
Our goal is simple but important. We want more people to know what Addison’s disease is. We want patients to feel seen and understood. We want families, health care professionals and the public to better understand the daily responsibility involved in living with adrenal insufficiency.
We are now asking Addison and adrenal disease organizations, foundations, companies, filmmakers and individuals in every country to help make this documentary possible.
Support can take many forms:
Financial contributions
Professional film and production support
Equipment or technical assistance
Help with international distribution and translation
Sharing the project with patient communities, media and possible sponsors
Introductions to organizations or individuals who may wish to participate
Every contribution, connection and shared message can help bring this important story to a global audience.
Together, we can make Addison’s disease more visible.
