Comment PLAN and I’ll send you my free 7-day Prenatal Meal Plan with real-food recipes, snacks and a grocery list 💕

“That’s just pregnancy” shouldn’t be the end of the conversation. Your symptoms can give us clues about what your body needs and where you could use more support. Here’s what I’m looking at:

🪫 Extreme fatigue → iron stores, food intake + hydration
I want to see your ferritin alongside your blood count. I also want to know: are you eating enough? Getting protein throughout the day? Keeping fluids down and getting enough minerals? Low iron stores and dehydration can contribute to that completely depleted feeling.

🤢 Nausea → B6, protein + meal timing
B6 can help with pregnancy nausea, and smaller, frequent meals with protein are worth trying. Think Greek yogurt, eggs, smoothies or chicken soup. If crackers are getting you through, let’s find something nourishing you can tolerate alongside them.

🚽 Constipation → fiber, fluids + your iron routine
Pregnancy slows digestion, and supplemental iron can make things harder. Build fiber gradually with kiwi, pears, oats, chia and cooked vegetables. Drink enough alongside it, move regularly and review your iron formulation if it’s making you miserable.

🦵 Muscle cramps → review magnesium + calcium intake
Check what your prenatal actually provides, then look at your food. Pumpkin seeds, beans and cooked greens contribute magnesium; yogurt, milk and cheese contribute calcium.

💧 Headaches + lightheadedness → check hydration
Especially when nausea makes drinking difficult. Vomiting can deplete fluids and electrolytes, so replacing those losses matters. Severe headaches, fainting or trouble keeping fluids down need prompt medical care.

Your symptoms, food intake and labs together help us figure out what needs attention. You deserve support with how you feel while you’re growing a whole human.

Preferably before you buy another supplement someone on Instagram told you to take 😂

I’m Becki Yoo, a registered dietitian, mom of 3, and co-author of Naturally Nourished Kids. After more than 10 years in functional medicine, I started my own practice earlier this year to support women through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and all the messy transitions in between.

A few reasons we might work together:

🥚 You’re preparing for pregnancy and want to know where to start with food, supplements, and understanding your own body. Whether it’s baby #1 or you’re wondering why getting pregnant again has been harder this time.

🤰 You’re pregnant and want more nutrition guidance than a list of foods you can’t eat.

🪫 You’ve had your babies, but you’re exhausted, your hair is falling out, your digestion is off, and you don’t feel like yourself.

🩸 Your periods, energy, or hormones have changed, and you’d like someone to spend more than five minutes asking about them.

My work starts with getting to know YOU: your history, what you’re eating, your symptoms, and what’s actually doable in your current season. We can use targeted bloodwork, micronutrient testing, and other functional labs to help guide your plan.

And yes, we’re going to talk a lot about real food. I love finding ways to nourish you that also work for the family you’re feeding.

Comment MORE and I’ll send you the details on working with me 🤍

And if a friend comes to mind, send her my way. I’d love to meet her.

If you’ve only been putting pumpkin in muffins, we need to talk. 🎃

This creamy pumpkin sausage pasta has browned Italian sausage, a garlicky pumpkin sauce, plenty of Parmesan and crispy sage on top. Exactly what I want to be eating this time of year…comment PASTA and I’ll send you the recipe!

It’s the next recipe in my collaboration with Home Grown my favorite local grocery store here in Dripping Springs. I love showing you how to turn their beautiful ingredients into meals you can actually get on the table for your family.

Here’s what’s going into this one:

🍝 Pasta choose a shape with plenty of little pockets to catch that creamy pumpkin sauce. I used Papa’s Pasta Co. comfy bouillon

🥩 Italian sausage: browned until it gets those crispy edges. It brings protein and so much flavor to the dish. I used Amanda Bailey mild Italian sausage

🎃 Pumpkin: stirred right into the sauce for a creamy texture and an easy way to get another veggie into dinner.

🧅 Onion + garlic : cooked in butter after browning the sausage, so all those good browned bits become part of the sauce.

🥣 Bone broth : adds richness and loosens up the pumpkin as everything simmers together.

🧈 Butter, cream + parmesan because we’re making a dinner that’s nourishing AND tastes really good.

🥬 Kale : finely chopped and wilted into the sauce.

🌿 Fresh sage : some goes into the sauce, and some gets crisped up for the top. Please don’t skip this part!

About 30 minutes, and you’ve got protein, veggies and real-food carbs all in one bowl. 🙌🏼

Comment PASTA and I’ll send you the full recipe. Save this for your next grocery run!

If French onion soup and pot roast had a baby…

I’m so excited to be teaming up with Home Grown my favorite local grocery store here in Dripping Springs, to share simple, real-food recipes using ingredients you can find right in store. Comment RECIPE and I’ll send you the whole thing!

And we’re starting strong with French Onion Pot Roast.
You’ll need:
🥩 Shipps Lake Ranch chuck roast (short ribs also work great!)
🧅 Onions & Garlic
🥕 Carrots + Potatoes
🥬 Kale to add at the end
🌿 thyme + rosemary
🥣 BALI FAMILY FARM bone broth
🍞 Love My Loaf and Lira Rossa Artisan Cheese for cheesy sourdough toast for dipping

The onions are really the whole point here. Give them a full 35–45 minutes until they’re deeply golden and jammy, then let them melt into the braising liquid while the beef cooks low and slow.

I made mine in a Dutch oven, but you can absolutely adapt this to the slow cooker for more of a set-it-and-forget-it meal.

It’s cozy, hearty, packed with protein and vegetables, and dare I say the kind of dinner that feels like someone took care of you.

Also: “I’m bringing you dinner” > “let me know if you need anything.”

Save this one for Sunday dinner and follow along for real food made easy and deeply nourishing recipes to feed your whole family.

What you eat before pregnancy matters. So does choosing supplements that make sense for you. I use both in fertility care, and these are the nutrients I pay the most attention to:

🍳 Folate + choline
Eggs, liver, leafy greens and beans are regulars on my fertility food list. I also want a prenatal in place before pregnancy, and I check how much choline it actually contains (some talk big game while only having 50mg!)

🥩 Iron + zinc
Red meat and oysters are two of my favorite fertility foods. If ferritin is low, I want to understand why and use labs to guide whether extra iron is needed.

🐟 EPA + DHA
I aim to get fish and shellfish on the menu regularly. If that’s not happening, an omega-3 supplement can be a useful way to fill the gap.

✨ CoQ10 + other antioxidants
This is where supplementation gets more individualized. CoQ10 is one I consider when egg quality is a concern, especially leading up to IVF or in women 35+. I also use NAC, carnitine and other antioxidants depending on the case.

🫘 Inositol + magnesium
I’m looking at food intake and the bigger picture here, especially if PCOS, insulin resistance or low magnesium intake is part of it.

🥣 Probiotic foods + targeted probiotics
Yogurt, kefir, fermented vegetables and plenty of fiber-rich plants all deserve a spot in the conversation. Depending on symptoms and history, I may add a specific probiotic too.

I wrote a full article on the supplements I use in my women’s fertility protocol, with the research behind each one. Comment SUPPS and I’ll send you the article and my exact supplement list.

📌 Save this for later and send it to a friend who’s trying to conceive.
