💥 Awe In Trauma – Episode 37. Hosted by Dr Mark Grixti, featuring Nancy Tung ✨
What if healing isn’t about fixing what is broken, but about making space for every part of who we are — the light and the shadow, the body and the soul, and even the stories carried through generations?
Welcome to Awe in Trauma. In this deeply thoughtful episode, Mark is joined by Nancy Tung, an international Brainspotting Trainer and Consultant, Systemic Wellness Coach and practitioner, whose career spans more than 40 years across medicine, public health, mental health and holistic wellbeing.
Nancy shares her journey from Taiwan to Canada and the United States, and how her experiences across nursing, acupuncture, energy medicine, family systems and Brainspotting have shaped her unique approach to healing. She describes this integration of body and soul as “soulmatic” work — listening beyond words and connecting with the wisdom that already exists within us.
Together, Mark and Nancy explore what it means to “hold the universe” for a client, how Yin and Yang can help us embrace different parts of ourselves, and how feelings of safety can sometimes begin with something as simple as a familiar object, a movement, music or a treasured memory.
Nancy also explores ancestral mapping and how recognising the experiences carried through generations can help us reconnect with the strength, resilience and resources that came before us.
This is a warm and fascinating conversation about culture, connection, healing and what it means to become more whole. Whether you’re a therapist, practitioner, or simply interested in understanding trauma from a more embodied perspective, this episode offers plenty to reflect on.
