Brain fog, poor sleep and a short fuse can come from a stressful season or from shifting hormones. The symptoms look almost identical.
The pattern is what differs. Stress rises and falls with a cause. Perimenopause tends to build steadily over months, often alongside subtle cycle changes and physical symptoms stress alone doesn't explain.
And it isn't always one or the other. Higher cortisol can amplify what fluctuating hormones are already doing.
