Amelia here. This is vivid for me lately. Gravitational security through the vestibular system, another way of framing grounding. It makes me think of so many things…

The effects of trauma on your sense of security or in your relationships. The importance of balancing the vestibular system while aging. Through dancing, cultivating sight and felt sense of where you are in space; to be in dynamic expression while having a sense of balance or having balance in the imbalance…momentum and the ability to right oneself. Transmuting the effects of trauma through dance.

Balancing the temporal bones, tinnitus, supporting the CNVIII Vestibulochochlear nerve through Craniosacral or Occupational Therapy. The benefits of the Feldenkrais Method.

The Medicine Hoop, meeting of Father Sky & Mother Earth, Creator at the Center. In TCM we are now in late summer, time of Earth, grounding, stillness, horizontal movement after the expansion of Fire in summer. Knowing where you stand, relating to the Warrior archetype (Angeles Arrien).

Taking time in nature to feel our place in things and stand into the earth.

How does this quote resonate with you? how will you support this relationship in your body? in your life?

We have access to so many methodologies that can help us find connection, wholeness, and ease in our bodies. Craniosacral Therapy (CST) has a distinct way of enlivening regions of the body to allow a renewed sense of wholeness or solidarity within the bodymind.

This is helpful when we have become disconnected from our awareness; when some body parts are really loud with pain/sensation that we forget the areas that are quietly supporting us; when sites of injury are congested, limited in their natural movement & aren’t getting enough resources of blood, lymph, energy, proprioceptive information; or when nerves are irritated.

It’s not high drama or cathartic. It’s one aspect of what we do: encourage the movement of fluid & energetic resources throughout the central nervous system & body in a calming & collaborative way.

the horizontal is the reflective, synthesizing, digestive time. emptying. it’s not about movement or progress yet it’s paramount to meaningful progress or action. it’s the nondoing that informs the doing.

in giving your imagination time to wander or in giving your system time to restore and Be, you give yourself the gift of inspired expansion or the generosity it needs in healing.

in my CST practice, we can attend to the whole person in process; wether you are seeking change or restorative time… or the play between the two. happy summer, Amelia Reeber CST.

Hello Beautiful People! Amelia Reeber here. I just found this picture my friend Sheri Cohen took of me in her work decades ago. I love the dynamism and colors. Anyway, some of you know already that starting in June I’ll be moving my bodywork practice over to Rise Wellness in Beulah. I’d love to see you there and hope this photo inspires movement to any micro stagnation lurking about.

Schedule change for Sarah's weekly chair yoga classes at Arcadia Community Center arcadiacc.org!

We're switching from 12-1 on Saturdays to 12-1 on Wednesdays. I'm hopeful that this will be an easier day for folks make time for, as weekends in the summer tend to be rather busy for us all!

Class cost is $15 + $3 fee to ACC. For our chair yoga classes, we keep it gentle, easy, and fun! This class is great if you, or someone you know, has trouble with mobility, balance, or is seeking movement after an injury.

Hello friends! Spring is springing! She's tossing us around a bit, but I think it's safe to say we've seen the end of snow for a while.

This makes it a great time to actually get into those New Year's resolutions (remember those?). It's so hard to turn over a new leaf in the middle of winter. Spring is the time of setting intentions, fresh starts, new beginnings...

Your friends at Kindred Waters are here to bolster that journey. Please go to our website to perhaps discover something which may be a helpful tool for you... Yoga, bodywork, sound healing, energy work... Kindredwaterscollective.com You can also sign up for our weekly newsletter to find inspiration and see what's on the schedule for the upcoming week.

The last class at 244 Benzie Blvd was a hit this morning. Continue to check KWC website for classes: our instructors have found wonderful new homes. Kindred Waters is transitioning but still thriving. Amelia and Karen continue to offer Craniosacral and Spinal Flow at the "home base". We are forever grateful for the 2 years we had in downtown Beulah.
