Missing affection and feeling uncomfortable receiving it can happen at the same time.

Several of you have shared that after years without touch, even a simple hug can feel unfamiliar or overwhelming.

Professional cuddle therapy doesn't mean jumping straight into an extended embrace.

We can start slowly, check in often, change positions, take breaks, or stop altogether.

Your comfort and consent matter throughout the entire experience.

Curious about my approach? I offer complimentary 15-minute phone consultations. Link in bio.

You can share a home, a bed, and an entire life with someone and still miss affectionate touch.

Relationships don't automatically guarantee that both people have the same needs or comfort levels around physical affection.

One person may be longing for more closeness while the other needs more space.

Both deserve to be heard. Neither should feel pressured.

The conversation isn't about who's right or wrong. It's about understanding what each person is experiencing.

Have you ever felt lonely while in a relationship?

Some people haven't stopped wanting affection. They've just stopped asking for it.

When you've experienced rejection or disappointment, asking to be held can start feeling like a risk.

Nobody owes us physical affection. Consent always matters.

But wanting affection isn't something to be ashamed of, either.

You deserve to be able to communicate your needs and explore relationships where connection feels mutual.

Have you ever stopped asking?

Can cuddle therapy help someone living with complex PTSD?

A veteran asked me this thoughtful question, particularly about people who didn't experience the comfort and co-regulation they needed from caregivers growing up.

Safe, consensual touch may be supportive for some people. For others, touch may feel overwhelming, uncomfortable, or unsafe.

In my practice, the focus is on choice, communication, boundaries, and respecting each person's pace.

Professional platonic touch isn't a treatment for CPTSD or a replacement for trauma-focused mental health care.

However, when appropriate, it may offer an additional opportunity to experience supportive human connection.

Sometimes feeling safe enough to say “no” is just as meaningful as being able to say “yes.”

Can someone develop romantic feelings for their professional cuddler?

It's possible and has happened many times.

Feeling cared for, receiving affection, and spending meaningful time with someone can sometimes bring up unexpected emotions.

That doesn't make someone bad or inappropriate.

What matters is how those feelings are handled.

Professional cuddle therapy requires clear boundaries, ethical practices, and an understanding that the relationship remains platonic and professional.

It's a question worth discussing openly.

Sometimes isolation feels safer than vulnerability.

You can't be rejected if you never ask.

You can't be disappointed if you never expect anything.

You can't get hurt by someone you never allow close, however, what happens when the same protection also keeps you from the connection you want?

You don't have to abandon your boundaries to create room for closeness.

You can move slowly, choose carefully, and let trust develop over time.

“You just need to love yourself.”

Sometimes that's helpful advice.

Sometimes it's a response that completely misses what someone is trying to tell us.

Self-love doesn't replace friendship, affection, companionship, or the desire to feel connected to another person.

You can genuinely enjoy your own company and still miss being held.

Those two things aren't mutually exclusive.

Have you ever been given this advice when you were feeling lonely?

You can be curious about a cuddle session and still feel nervous. You don’t have to know what kind of touch you want or whether you want touch at all.

We can talk, take our time, and figure out what feels comfortable. “I’m not sure yet” is a perfectly welcome place to start.

You don't need to be good at cuddling to try cuddle therapy. Seriously.

You don't need to know the positions, what you like, or even whether you'll feel comfortable being held right away.

That's something we explore together, at your pace, with clear communication and consent.

There is no right way to experience safe, platonic touch, and there's definitely no test at the end.

We get to explore and discover together. I got you!

Yes. We're talking about it.

Bodies can respond to closeness and touch in ways we don't consciously choose.

Professional cuddle therapy remains nonsexual.

No shame. No acting on it. Clear boundaries, communication and adjustments when needed.

Have a question you've been afraid to ask? Ask it.
