My six-month-old son helped me learn to trust body wisdom when I was new to it.
He was born with pectus excavatum — a sunken breastbone that can press on the heart and lungs. When he took a deep breath to cry, his chest collapsed inward instead of expanding. It was terrifying.
I had learned to muscle test my own body to help it heal. I wondered — could I ask his body what it needed? I didn't know what I was doing. But I had to try.
His body said the issue was spiritual and emotional. A six-month-old. I didn't understand it, but I followed. Flower essences. Affirmations sung like lullabies. And trust — so much trust in something I couldn't see. Deep love motivating me.
This is not a condition that usually goes away on its own.
My son turns 40 in December. He has a big barrel chest, a huge laugh, and a life he genuinely loves.
That early experience is the seed of everything I've done professionally for nearly 40 years.
Your body knows how to heal. The question is whether you're willing to listen, even when the answer surprises you.
