🎃 We’re excited to invite you to a safe and accessible trick-or-treating experience at Jefferson Park (formerly Coca-Cola Park), sponsored by IronPigs Charities! We hope you’ll join us for this special Halloween outing. 🎃

Our group arrival time is 5:30 PM. You must be able to attend during this designated time slot.

Tickets are available at NO CHARGE to current EPDSC members, but quantities are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Only immediate family members living in your household may attend with you.

One week ago, we celebrated the 27th Annual Lehigh Valley Buddy Walk® in a BIG way!

We are so grateful to everyone who came out to walk, cheer, celebrate, and support the Down syndrome community. Your energy and enthusiasm made the day truly special!

And a very special THANK YOU to our incredible Champion and MVP Sponsors. Your generous support helps make the Buddy Walk—and the work of EPDSC—all that it is.

We have some INCREDIBLE news to share! 🎉

This year, EPDSC was honored to be selected as the beneficiary of the 2026 Party for Poppa K Golf Tournament—and we are thrilled to announce that this incredible event raised MORE THAN $71,000 for EPDSC!

For 22 years, Party for Poppa K has brought together golfers, sponsors, donors, and volunteers to turn a difficult loss into something positive. Founded in 2004 after the loss of Peter’s dad to cancer, the tournament has now raised more than $450,000 for smaller, regionally based organizations.

This year’s tournament welcomed more than 100 golfers, surpassed its $60,000 goal, and set a new fundraising record! ⛳️

And we are so excited about what this generosity will make possible:

🏃 Expanding Young Athletes — creating more opportunities for children with Down syndrome to build skills, confidence, friendships, and a love of being active.

💼 Welcoming Sarah to the EPDSC Team — Sarah Neary, a young adult and self-advocate who has been part of our community for years, joined our staff as a Program Assistant on October 1.

🌟 Launching a New Vocational Program — beginning in early 2027, we’ll develop a program for adults with Down syndrome focused on building skills, exploring employment opportunities, and supporting greater independence.

These aren’t simply new programs. They’re new opportunities for people with Down syndrome to learn, grow, connect, contribute, and reach their potential.

We were especially excited to have several of our own EPDSC advocates on the golf course for the tournament. Seeing the people who will benefit from this generosity be part of the day made it even more special.

To everyone who golfed, sponsored, donated, volunteered, and helped make this record-breaking day possible: THANK YOU! ❤️

What makes someone who they are?

A person with Down syndrome may be a child learning and growing, a teenager discovering their interests and independence, or an adult pursuing goals, building relationships, working, and creating a life of their own.

They are daughters and sons. Siblings. Friends. Neighbors. Coworkers. Teammates.

They have their own personalities, interests, dreams, strengths, challenges, and stories.

Down syndrome is one part of who they are—not all of who they are.

That is what Down Syndrome Awareness Month is about: seeing and celebrating the whole person.

And seeing the whole person also means being thoughtful about the words we use. A person has Down syndrome—they are not defined by it.

In honor of Down Syndrome Awareness Month, take a look at our fact card and help us spread awareness and understanding by sharing it.

The 27th Annual Lehigh Valley Buddy Walk is TODAY, and we are SO excited to celebrate with you! 💙💛

Today is about coming together as a community to celebrate individuals with Down syndrome, support their families, and show just how much we can accomplish when we walk together.

A SUPER HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who is joining us, volunteering, donating, fundraising, sponsoring, spreading the word, and helping make today possible. Every dollar raised and every hour volunteered helps EPDSC continue providing programs, resources, advocacy, support, and opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

At EPDSC, we celebrate individuals with Down syndrome and their families all year long—but this month, we get to celebrate a little louder!

Awareness isn't just about knowing what Down syndrome is. It's about seeing the person, challenging assumptions, creating opportunities, and choosing inclusion.

So we're making this interactive!
