This year I have MANY things to be grateful for. I created the most beautiful tiny human (after years of trying), I’ve had the privilege of working with phenomenal people (office team + nanny team), and I’ve gotten to build my practice to include the world’s greatest group of people/patients (many of which have become friends).

Where do you feel most at home?
Is it in a place (city/country)? A certain house?
With a specific person or group of people?
When you are doing a certain activity?

Home, for me, is doing what I love (lasering, injecting, peeling, lipoing. . . fixing skin), helping my patients feel like the best versions of themselves, and being in the company of these incredible women, whom I’m fortunate enough to work closely with every day.

This work family was carefully created. Finding such a wonderful team has not been easy. Over the past 20 years, I’ve been in some pretty toxic work environments (the polar opposite of feeling “at home”). . Having experienced nights when I’ve cried myself to sleep because I was so unhappy makes me appreciate my current situation even more.

All the rough times were worth it as I’ve never felt so happy and “at home” at work as I do now. . . I’ve worked incredibly hard to become my own boss, create a positive work environment, and recruit wonderful coworkers like these ladies. They help me take the best care of my most precious “assets”. . . My patients. Building and running a business is HARD. But, with .shimono and Suzanne at my side, it’s rewarding and FUN!
