Well, apparently I’m performing exorcisms at Body Remedies now. 😂💀

Y’all. I about DIED laughing yesterday.

I had a couple come in for a couples massage. My friend, was working on the husband, and I was working on his wife.

Now, while I’m working on her neck, I find this GNARLY trigger point.

You know the kind. The one that makes you wonder how somebody has been walking around functioning like everything is fine. 😂

So I ask her, “Does this spot bother you?”

She says, “YES! ALL THE TIME!”

Say less. 😂

I got straight to business.

A little trigger point therapy. A little myofascial release. Working through that stubborn tension that’s apparently been making itself right at home in her neck.

Well, fast-forward to the end of the massage.

She gets up, looks at me, and says:

“Oh my goodness, we HAVE to come back! And I want YOU to be my massage therapist next time, too!”

And then she hits me with…

“I FEEL LIKE YOU EXORCISED A DEMON WHEN YOU WERE WORKING ON MY NECK!” 😭😂😂

MA’AM.

NOT THE NECK DEMONS. 💀

I was CRYING laughing.

Ten out of ten. One of my favorite client reactions EVER.

And for the record, I am a therapeutic massage therapist. Not an exorcist. 😂

But if you’ve got a knot in your neck that’s been tormenting you for months…

You know you can call me, right?😂

Come see what all the fuss is about lol.

“WOW. I CAN TURN MY HEAD AGAIN!”

That’s what one of my clients said after getting off my massage table yesterday.

He’s a race car driver.

And if you’ve ever watched someone race, you can imagine how much physical stress their body experiences behind the wheel.

The constant bracing. The tight grip on the steering wheel. The rapid turns. The force of acceleration and braking.

His neck and shoulder muscles are working overtime to stabilize his head and upper body.

And over time, that repeated tension can contribute to stiffness, soreness, and limited range of motion. Nerves can become compressed and create symptoms like tingling and numbness in the arms.

Race car driver or not, you can experience the same discomfort.

Maybe you’re gripping your steering wheel during your daily commute.

Maybe you spend eight hours looking at a computer.

Maybe you catch yourself raising your shoulders when you’re stressed.

These things are the result of movements we do again and again. Muscles become overworked and stiff, even hyper-irritable at times.

That’s where therapeutic massage may help.

I’ve been seeing this particular client monthly to help manage his neck tension, head range of motion and he repeatedly walks out with measurable progress.

Yesterday, after his massage, he turned his head and said, “Wow. I can turn my head again!”

Each month he comes in with his neck feeling restricted, and massage has repeatedly helped him regain more comfortable movement.

I’d be happy to help you feel better in your body as well. Use the link in the comments to see my massage openings, so you can get back to enjoying the things you love without the distraction of pain…sooner than later. I offer in-clinic and in-home appointments in Billings.

“I thought getting a headache every afternoon was just part of working at a computer.”

You know how it starts.

It’s around two or three in the afternoon.

Your eyes feel tired.

Your shoulders have slowly crept toward your ears.

There’s a dull ache developing near the base of your skull.

And before you know it, that familiar headache has arrived.

Again.

You try drinking more water.

You take a break from the screen.

You rub your temples.

Sometimes it helps.

Other times, you’re just counting down the hours until you can go home.

Here’s something many people don’t realize.

Some headaches can be associated with muscle tenderness and tension throughout the neck, shoulders, and scalp.

Your suboccipital muscles sit at the base of your skull.

Your upper trapezius connects your neck and shoulders.

Your temporalis muscles help move your jaw.

These muscles can contribute to certain headache symptoms.

You might notice…pressure around your forehead, aching near the base of your skull, tight shoulders, jaw clenching, neck stiffness, and headaches that become more noticeable later in the day

Can you imagine what it would feel like to finish your workday without a headache taking over your evening?

If you’re ready to start feeling more comfortable in your body, Body Remedies offers both In-clinic and in-home appointments in Billings, MT.

When did checking your blind spot become something you had to think about?

It’s such a small movement yet, you get into your car… you put on your seat belt. The you start driving and when it’s time to change lanes, you turn your head.

…Except your neck doesn’t turn as comfortably as it used to.

So you compensate.

You rotate your shoulders.

You turn your entire upper body.

Maybe you avoid turning toward one side because it feels tight or uncomfortable.

And after a while, you barely notice you’re doing it.

Here’s something interesting.

Limited neck rotation can sometimes be associated with muscle tension and restricted movement in the cervical spine.

Muscles like the sternocleidomastoid, scalenes, upper trapezius, and levator scapulae all contribute to neck movement and stability.

When surrounding tissues become stiff or tired, turning your head may feel restricted.

You might notice:

⚠️ Difficulty looking over one shoulder
⚠️ Stiffness when turning your head
⚠️ Tightness at the base of your neck
⚠️ Shoulder discomfort
⚠️ Feeling like one side moves better than the other

But the part that matters isn’t simply how far your neck rotates.

It’s what that limitation means for your everyday life.

Driving.

Backing out of a parking space.

Looking behind you when someone calls your name.

These are movements you shouldn’t have to overthink.

At Body Remedies, therapeutic massage and myofascial release can help address muscular tension and support improved comfort and mobility.

Because sometimes meaningful progress looks like something as simple as turning your head more comfortably.

Both in-clinic and in-home appointments are available in Billings, MT.

“I thought having a stiff neck every morning was just part of getting older.”

That’s something I hear from people who’ve spent years working at computers.

You know the feeling I’m talking about…

You wake up and turn your head, but it doesn’t turn quite as far as you’d like.

You get into your car and checking your blind spot feels uncomfortable. It’s as if you have to turn your whole body just to check your blind spot.

By the afternoon, your shoulders are creeping toward your ears.

And by the time you get home, all you want to do is lie down and rest because your head feels so heavy.

A lot of people don’t realize how much muscular tension can accumulate from:

• Sitting at a computer for hours
• Looking down at phones
• Forward head posture
• Clenching the jaw
• Stress and shallow breathing
• Holding the shoulders in one position all day

And here’s something interesting.

Sometimes the discomfort you feel in your neck is connected to muscles you’ve barely thought about.

Your upper trapezius, levator scapulae, scalenes, and suboccipital muscles all help support and move your head and neck.

When these muscles become overworked or sensitive, turning your head can become uncomfortable.

You might notice:

⚠️ Stiffness when waking up
⚠️ Difficulty checking your blind spot
⚠️ Headaches near the base of your skull
⚠️ Burning between your shoulder blades
⚠️ Shoulders that never seem to relax

But here’s what I want you to consider.

What would change about your day if turning your head didn’t feel like such a chore?

What if you could finish working without feeling like your neck was carrying the weight of the entire day?

At Body Remedies, I use therapeutic massage and myofascial release to help address muscle tension and support more comfortable movement.

Because getting older doesn’t automatically mean living with pain is just the way life is.

What is living in your body more comfortably in your body is possible?

Googling for answers and searching for relief?

Massage can help relieve arm numbness, tingling and pain by reducing neck and shoulder muscle tightness around the compressed nerves and blood vessels.

10/08/2026

That tingling down your arm, the numbness in your fingers, and the constant tension in your neck might all be connected.

And your posture could be part of the problem.

Lately, I’ve had an influx of clients coming in with a similar combination of symptoms.

Neck and shoulder tension.
Pain traveling down the arm.
Tingling or numbness in the hands.
Limited range of motion.
And something else I’ve been noticing…

Their heads are sitting noticeably forward of their shoulders.

Here’s why that matters.

There’s a network of nerves called the brachial plexus that travels from your neck, through the area between your collarbone and first rib, and down into your arm.

These nerves help control movement and sensation throughout your shoulders, arms, and hands.

When those nerves become compressed or irritated, they can produce symptoms like pain, tingling, numbness, and sometimes weakness in your arm.

Through targeted therapeutic massage and some myofascial release, we can work on reducing muscular tension, improving soft-tissue mobility, and helping your neck and shoulders move more comfortably.

For some clients, this may help reduce pain and improve range of motion. As their mobility and muscle function improve, maintaining a more comfortable, upright head position may also become easier over time.

Being able to turn your head more comfortably makes checking your blind spots while driving a whole lot easier.

Reaching overhead with less hesitation.

Working at your desk without constantly adjusting your neck.

And going about your day without being so distracted by discomfort, can be a game changer.

Because pain shouldn’t decide how you live.

Message me if you’d like to see if we can work together to make difference and get you moving better.

Have you ever moved a little slower, turned a little more carefully, or avoided a certain movement because you were afraid it would trigger that pain again?

That’s where one of my clients was.

Her muscle spasms had become so intense that when one hit, it could stop her in her tracks and take her breath away.

And eventually, it wasn’t just the spasms affecting her.

It was the fear of the next one. She started hesitating before certain movements. Bracing. Moving carefully. She began thinking about movements most of us make without a second thought.

Because once your body has surprised you with intense pain enough times, you can start wondering:

“If I move this way, is it going to happen again?”

That became one of our goals working together.

Not just helping her muscles feel better.

Helping her trust her body enough to move again.

We paid attention to where she was holding tension, where her body was guarding, what movements made her nervous, and how her body responded to the work… and then the transformation started happening.

The muscle spasms stopped.

But what I loved just as much was watching the hesitation disappear with them. Her confidence began to shine through as she was moving with less and less anticipation of triggered pain and spasms. Her constant bracing dissipated.

She was no longer worrying about whether or not one wrong movement was going to take her breath away.

And THAT is why I do therapeutic massage.

Because pain relief isn’t only about lowering a number on a pain scale. Sometimes it’s getting back the movement pain stole from you. Turning your head without thinking about it. Bending over without bracing first.

Reaching.💫

Walking.💃🏾

Working. 💸

Picking up your grandkids. 🧑🏻‍🍼

I love helping people move away from thinking, “Is this going to hurt?”

I love helping people move closer to “I’m not afraid to move anymore.”

If you’ve started changing the way you move because you’re afraid of triggering pain, muscle spasms, or tightness again, let’s work on getting you back to moving with more confidence.

I offer therapeutic massages in home and in clinic. Send me a message if you’d like to book.

Has this ever happened to you before?

A client came in describing that she had golf ball sized knots sitting right above her sacrum.

Not just tight muscles. These were dense, sticky areas in her low back that had been there for a long time. The kind that make it uncomfortable to sit, stiff to stand up, and always feel like something’s off no matter how you move.

Instead of just digging into those spots, we worked the surrounding areas first. That included her hips, glutes, and the fascia that was keeping everything locked down and pulling on her low back.

Once her body started to let go, those tough spots finally began to soften and become more mobile.

By the end of the session, she was moving easier, standing more upright, and didn’t have that same pressure sitting in her low back.

Later she told me:

“Those golf ball sized knots I had in my low back are finally gone. I feel so much better.”

Most people think low back tension like that is just part of life. Usually… it’s not.

If you’re experiencing low back pain, I’d love to help you. Send me a message if you’d like.
