🩹 SHOULDER KINESIOLOGY TAPING | WHAT’S THE PURPOSE?

Kinesiology taping is commonly used in shoulder rehabilitation as an adjunct to therapeutic exercise and functional training.

🎯 Potential benefits include:
• Providing sensory input to increase awareness of shoulder positioning
• Helping with short-term pain modulation
• Supporting confidence during functional movement
• Complementing an individualized rehabilitation program

⚠️ Tape does not mechanically stabilize the shoulder joint or correct underlying pathology on its own. Its effectiveness varies depending on the individual and condition.

Remember: tape is a tool, not the treatment plan!

LOW BACK TAPING 🎯🩹

Kinesiology tape can be used as an adjunct to rehab to provide sensory feedback, improve body awareness, and help patients feel more supported during movement.

✨ Potential benefits:
▪️ Provides proprioceptive input
▪️ May help modulate pain
▪️ Can increase awareness of trunk positioning
▪️ May improve confidence with functional movement

📌 Remember: Taping is a tool, not a fix! It works best alongside therapeutic exercise, movement retraining, and a comprehensive rehab program.

🤚🏼 Trigger Finger Taping | ORTHOGIRLS 🩹

Dealing with triggering, clicking, or catching when bending your finger? 👀 Taping can help provide support and limit excessive motion to reduce irritation during daily activities.

✨ Save this technique for your next hand therapy session!

📌 Remember: Taping is one tool in the toolbox and may not be appropriate for every case.

👉🏼Trigger finger taping made simple!
This technique helps support the flexor tendon, reduce irritation, and limit painful “catching” during finger movement. Perfect for use during
daily tasks or rehab exercises - just remember, tape = support, not
restriction! 🤝🔥

💪🤝 Posterior → Anterior Mulligan glide at the elbow
This mobilization helps restore anterior joint glide of the ulna/radius on the humerus - something that often gets restricted after injury, immobilization, or prolonged guarding.
When that glide is limited, patients feel:
“Blocked” elbow extension
Posterior elbow pinching
Stiffness that stretching alone doesn’t fix
By applying a sustained P→A glide with the Mulligan belt, we can:
-reduce joint compression
- improve arthrokinematics
-decrease pain with movement
-restore terminal extension
The goal isn’t just motion during treatment — it’s creating a window for pain-free active movement right after, so the new range sticks.
Better joint mechanics → better movement → better function

🏈💪 TRAIN LIKE A PRO at MetLife Stadium!

Such a cool experience getting to be part of this event hosted by Alliance Performance yesterday! From the field to the performance side of things, it was an incredible opportunity to see sports performance and PT/OT in such an iconic setting.

Always grateful for experiences that bring together sports, performance, and rehab! 🔥

Your TKEs are about to level up 🔥

5 ways to train the terminal knee extension you’re probably missing:

Strap-assisted TKE
Ball-behind-the-knee TKE
Banded standing TKE
Banded step-down TKE
Banded walking TKE
Different setups. Same goal: own that last few degrees of knee extension. 🦵

Don’t just do TKEs—progress them.

Save this for your next rehab session 🔖

Wrist / Carpal Tunnel Taping 🤝
We tape the wrist in neutral to reduce pressure through the carpal tunnel and support proper alignment.
Extensor taping (distal → proximal) helps unload overworked muscles and decrease strain, while flexor taping with the wrist gently extended supports the tissues that tend to tighten and compress the nerve.
The goal: less pain, better support, and improved hand function throughout the day
