⏰Also Planning Ahead

Don't forget that Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 1, at 2:00 a.m.

When the clock reaches 2:00 a.m., it will "fall back" one hour to 1:00 a.m.

Before you go to bed on Saturday, October 31, remember to set any manual clocks back one hour.

Hope you can enjoy the extra hour of sleep! 🍂⏰🍁

Large text at the top reads “FALL BACK.” Below it, the graphic states “November 1, 2026” and “2:00 AM → 1:00 AM.” A banner across the bottom reads “Daylight Saving Time Ends.” On the right side is a large analog clock showing the time approaching 2:00, with a curved red arrow indicating the clock should be turned back one hour.

🎃 Halloween Is for Everyone 🎃

As you're handing out treats this Halloween, please remember that not every child experiences or enjoys Halloween in the same way.

🍬 Not every child will say "Trick-or-Treat" or "Thank you."

🍬 Not all children will make eye contact.

🍬 Some children may not wear a costume.

🍬 Not all children can carry their own treat bag or bucket.

🍬 Some trick-or-treaters may appear older than you expect.

🍬 Flashing lights, strobe effects, loud noises, and heavy fog machines can be overwhelming or frightening for some children.

🍬 Consider offering non-food treats for children with food allergies or dietary restrictions.

🍬 Some trick-or-treaters may need extra time, patience, space, or support.

🍬 Some children may use communication devices or have a family member, friend, or caregiver assisting them.

Most importantly, if someone trick-or-treating doesn't fit your expectations, choose kindness. No questions. No judgment.

Halloween is for everyone. Let's help make it safe, welcoming, and inclusive for everyone, including people with disabilities, people of all ages, and people from all walks of life. 🎃🧡👻

🎃 Halloween Safety Starts at Home! 🎃

If you plan to welcome trick-or-treaters to your home this Halloween, here are a few simple ways to help keep everyone safe:

👻 Remove toys, decorations, cords, and other obstacles from walkways leading to your door.

👻 Sweep leaves, dirt, and debris from steps and sidewalks so they can be seen clearly.

👻 Check that your outdoor lights are working. Turn them on if you plan to welcome trick-or-treaters.

👻 Keep pets in a safe, secure area where they won't be stressed by visitors or accidentally get outside.

👻 Consider using battery-operated candles in pumpkins and decorations instead of real candles to reduce the risk of fire.

Let's work together to make Halloween safe, fun, and enjoyable for everyone in our community! 🎃🍬👻
