🌿 Did You Know That Even Healthy Foods Can Contain Anti-Nutrients?
Just because a food is considered healthy doesn’t mean eating it in abundance is always better!
Many nutritious foods, including nuts, seeds, grains, legumes, and certain vegetables, naturally contain compounds called anti-nutrients. These compounds can sometimes interfere with how our bodies absorb minerals like iron, zinc, and calcium.
🥦 This is why VARIETY matters!
When we focus too heavily on one particular food, even a healthy one, we may limit the nutrients we’re getting from other sources. Over time, a restrictive or poorly balanced diet can contribute to nutrient deficiencies.
But here’s something I really want people to understand:
It’s not just WHAT you eat. It’s how you PREPARE, DIGEST, and ABSORB your food!
🌱 Soaking, sprouting, fermenting, and properly cooking certain foods can help reduce some anti-nutrients and improve nutrient availability.
🌱 Healthy digestion plays a major role in breaking down foods and allowing your body to absorb the nutrients it needs.
🌱 Eating a variety of whole foods helps provide a broader range of vitamins, minerals, and other beneficial compounds.
🌱 Your individual digestive health and nutritional needs matter. What works wonderfully for one person may not be ideal for another.
This is why I stress digestion, food preparation, and individualized nutrition so much in my practice!
My goal isn’t just to help you eat healthier. It’s to help you understand how to get the most nourishment from your food.
Remember, eating healthy and actually absorbing nutrients are two different things! 💚
