What is considered chronic pain?
Pain that lasts longer than three months is generally considered chronic pain. But living with chronic pain is about much more than a timeline. It can affect how you move, sleep, work, exercise, and plan your everyday life.
One important distinction is that pain is a symptom, not always the diagnosis. For example, lower back pain can have many potential contributors, including joint dysfunction, disc issues, muscle tension, or problems involving the hips and pelvis.
At THiNC, we believe understanding the why behind persistent pain is an important part of creating an individualized approach to care. This may include looking at movement, structural factors, nervous system function, nutrition, and daily habits.
⚠️ Pay attention to changes. Worsening pain, significant weakness, or changes in bladder or bowel function should be evaluated promptly by a medical professional.
