Pretty rad!
Remember! Right now we are changing out our upper respiratory lining- from summer to winter. So any toxins in us are often thrown in during this process. I can help ease you through.
This is one of the few times you actually get to see what people complain about when they say “my sinuses are killing me.”
Those hollow spaces in the middle of the face?
They’re not empty—they’re paranasal sinuses, and they’re everywhere:
→ Frontal sinuses (forehead)
→ Ethmoid air cells (between the eyes — that honeycomb-looking cluster)
→ Maxillary sinuses (cheeks)
→ Sphenoid sinus (deep, behind everything)
All lined with mucosa. All connected to tiny drainage pathways.
And that’s where the problem starts.
Because when inflammation hits:
• Mucosa swells
• Drainage pathways clog
• Pressure builds in a closed space
That’s why sinus pain feels:
→ deep
→ throbbing
→ localized to face/teeth/behind eyes
Not just a “cold”… but a pressure chamber in your skull.
Clinically, this anatomy explains everything:
• Maxillary sinusitis → tooth pain (roots sit right under it)
• Ethmoid infections → orbital complications (thin lamina papyracea)
• Frontal sinus → headaches that worsen when leaning forward
• Sphenoid → dangerous… near optic nerve + pituitary
And that tight cluster behind the nose?
That’s why a “simple sinus infection” can, in rare cases, turn into:
→ orbital cellulitis
→ abscess
→ even intracranial spread
You’re not just congested.
You’re dealing with inflamed cavities sitting millimeters away from your brain.
