We are excited to see you this Thursday for our final drive-thru flu shot clinic!

The flu shot clinic is for children ages 6 months to high school seniors on Thursday, October 22, 4 to 6 p.m. outside the clinic located at 1195 N. Oakland Ave., Bolivar.

This is a first come, first served event with no registration required. When arriving for a flu shot, you should remain in your car and a clinic staff member will be outside to provide instructions and administer the flu vaccine.

All patients under 18 must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian. Please dress your child for easy access to arms and legs. Short-sleeve shirts or shorts/onesie for small children is recommended.

Do not attend if your child has had a fever within the past 24 hours.

We are excited to welcome Olivia Martin, FNP-C, to her new role as a family nurse practitioner at CMH Pediatric and Walk-In Clinic!

Olivia began her health care career at CMH in 2010 as a certified nursing assistant before becoming a licensed practical nurse serving on CMH’s Medical-Surgical Unit. Today is the day! Don't miss out! CMH Pediatric Clinic is offering drive-thru flu shot clinics for children ages 6 months to high school seniors from 4-6 p.m.
Here are a few reminders:
Pre-Visit Instructions:
• An adult or legal guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18.
• Please do not have any pets in your vehicle.
• Please dress your child(ren) so that arms and legs are easily accessible. Short-sleeved shirts or shorts/onesies for young children are recommended.
• Children receiving the vaccine should not eat or drink during the vaccination.
• Please remove jackets before entering the drive-thru line.
• Children should remain secured in their car seats or seatbelts and should only occupy the end seats (not the middle seats).
Drive-Thru Clinic Instructions:
• When arriving at the clinic parking lot, follow the signs to enter the drive-thru line. Your first stop will be registration for all children who are receiving the flu vaccine.
• Follow the directions to the vaccination sites. Remain in the vehicle unless otherwise instructed.

Twenty-five years later, we remember.

On Patriot Day, we honor the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and remember the courage of the first responders, health care workers, military members and everyday Americans who stepped forward to help.

We remember the families who lost loved ones, those who continue to carry the effects of that day, and the spirit of compassion and unity that brought our nation together.

Today, we pause to remember, honor and never forget.

Playing and exercising outside is fantastic for your child's physical and mental health! But when the heat index climbs above 90°F, it can get risky. With temperatures expected to be near 100 next week, make sure everyone stays safe and comfortable. Here are some friendly tips to beat the heat and protect your child:
1. Stay hydrated – Remind your kids to sip water often and keep it within reach.
2. Dress lightly – Choose light-colored, lightweight clothes, and stick to one layer of absorbent fabric to help sweat evaporate.
3. Plan for extra breaks – Hot weather can make both kids (and parents) feel tired and cranky. Take regular breaks indoors to cool off, rest, and enjoy some water.
4. Keep your cool – If your child feels hot, a cool bath or a mist of water can really help. Swimming is also a fun way to cool down and stay active!
5. Never leave your child in a car – Even for a moment, cars can get dangerously hot super quickly, even with the windows open.
