On October 10th, the Boston and Worcester Service Warrior Teams came together for a day of team building, reflection, goal setting, and learning.

October marks the mid-year point in the Service Warrior Year, and to celebrate this milestone, the Worcester and Boston Warriors came together to meet each other and learn more about the work each team is doing. Additionally, Warriors took time during the day to reflect on their first six months in the program and set goals for the second half of the year.

October is also Disability History Month in Massachusetts, so Warriors participated in different activities to learn more about Disability History.

It was a truly EPIC day bringing these two teams of young leaders together. We can’t wait to see what they all accomplish over the second half of their service year!

Earlier this month, the Worcester Service Warriors rolled up their sleeves to help out at the Community Harvest Project. Warriors spent the morning cleaning and packing lettuce and cabbage to deliver to local food pantries and partner organizations, providing healthy meals for the community. In total, the Warriors cleaned and packed 592lbs of lettuce and cabbage, which will provide 5,328 servings. Way to go, Warriors!

This past Saturday, the Boston Service Warriors had a great day of hands-on learning and began planning their legacy project. In the morning, Warriors worked with the MBTA Mobility Center to learn more about using the MBTA, accessibility information, trip planning, and more. Warriors then got to put the lessons into action by going to South Station and taking the train. It was a great morning of travel training and gaining new skills for the future.

In the afternoon, Warriors began to think about their year-long legacy project and what they want to do to make a lasting difference in the City of Boston. Stay tuned to learn more about what these Warriors are planning!
