- for breech, all they had to do was get mama on her hands and knees and keep their hands to themselves . . . and then, if an issue arose, such as head entrapment, they could do physiological maneuvers with their hands.

- for shoulder dystocia, all they had to do was rotate baby, with prayer hands, to free the shoulders, and fish for the wrists to pull them out.

- to this day, both of these occurrences will land you with an unnecessary induction and/or an immediate unnecessarean; the medical mafia has successfully convinced women that a major abdominal surgery is safer than following basic physiology.

Yeah, they're not using chainsaws to saw your pelvis anymore, but they are inducing you and injecting you with fentanyl, en masse, routinely, to paralyze you - all the while, aiming to stall your birth . . . so that they will have a reason to put on paper when they slice you open with a scalpel and bill you for more money (bonus points if you have surgical complications.)

✽ CALLING ALL INTACTIVISTS + TRADITIONAL BIRTHWORKERS❕✽

The Erasure of Traditional Midwifery is Modern-Day Witch-Burning:
- when you obtain midwifery licensure through the government, this means that you now work for the government, rather than the women that you claim to serve; the government *owns* you, as a midwife, and the slip of paper (title), that you paid so much for, does not even protect you from legal recourse . . . instead, it legally binds your hands and forces you to do things that violate bodily autonomy and are not in the best interest of a mother or her baby . . . and if you do not do said things, you risk losing your licensure and face legal reprimand.

- babies die at the hands of OBGYNs, every day, and babies are skinned alive without any pain management by OBGYNs (ge***al mutilation), every day; Money Over Morals is a common theme, and no one bats an eye. It doesn't matter how you educate yourself, as a traditional midwife; in the eyes of the government, you are not working for them, and thus, you are 'bad.' Here, OBGYNs aim to cut open as many women as possible, for money; they toss out the 'breech babies need a c-section', 'your baby is too big', 'you can't go past 40 weeks', and 'you can't birth naturally after a c-section' lies like candy - all so that they can earn more money. Your average OBGYN hasn't *ever* experienced a normal, physiological birth, as their job is to meddle, and the minute you meddle, birth is no longer physiological.

Governmental Licensure often forces midwives to be overly handsy - two examples: performing mandatory cervical checks, to 'get their numbers', and placenta removals without consent.

Let's say you're past 40 weeks guesstimate gestation, and you've been seeing a government midwife; you may be forced to induce (meddle), to have their birth attendance, or you will be transferred out of their care - meaning: you won't have birth support anymore!

You've found out it's more dangerous to have a repeat cesarean than try for a VBAC, so, what if you want a VBA2C? You may be risked out of care, by governmental midwives, just for that. Then, your only option is to birth at home, by yourself and/or your partner, or find a traditional midwife or doula who is okay with attending your birth because they don't have a licensure that forces them to abandon you - or the hospital (and you won't have a choice; they will cut you open.)

There are numerous instances where you could be risked out of care, and even if you're not, can you trust that your autonomy is truly being honored?

I stand with the women who fight for bodily autonomy, and I stand with traditional birthworkers - from doulas to traditional midwives. You will not diminish the sanctity of our birth experiences, over a piece of paper. I am not comfortable with a white coat or a wolf in sheep's clothing, attending any of my future births. I am tired of having hands shoved in me and my placentas yanked out of me, over textbook numbers; what happened to MY body, MY choice and MY intuition?

Thankfully, some states respect traditional midwifery, but Kentucky?
- not so much: our birth community has several 'birth activists' who are actively partaking in the witch-hunt and erasure of traditional birth.

I, myself, am a traditional birthkeeper (doula), who attends out-of-hospital births. I do not claim to be a medical provider, nor do I ever aim to be.

- 'midwife' means 'with woman', and while I am not a birth midwife, I am a spiritual midwife; I talk to Higher Selves and Spirit Guides in other dimensions, and I assist individuals through spiritual awakenings.

I have a National Provider Identifier as a Lay Midwife, but Kentucky does not recognize it. So, I can legally attend births, advertising as a birth midwife, in Ohio and West Virginia, but not Kentucky; this is why you will not see me call myself a birth midwife during the duration of me living in Kentucky. Here, I am a Doula, a Birthkeeper, or a Traditional Birth Attendant.

It's all semantics, and here is a case of witch-burning: Gloria Lemay. Gloria refused to let her hands be tied by licensure; she refused to become a pawn for the government to meddle in home birth. Stand with women; stand with Gloria.

- after birth, my eldest didn't nurse for five days. He had severe oral ties, inhibiting him from latching and suckling correctly; the clue lay in the clicking sound and pain that was brought on, each time an attempt to nurse was made.

I was determined to breastfeed, though, so I tried my hardest to pump, and I syringe-fed him that pumped milk.

I hardly got any sleep in those first few days because I was improperly pumping - with the wrong type of pump, and improperly-fit flanges; I wasn't yielding a sufficient quantity of milk in the allotted pumping time, which ultimately led to me pumping what-felt-to-be practically nonstop, and I contracted mastitis.

I didn't know that flanges weren't one-size-fits-all. I honestly didn't know what I was doing, at all. I'd never had a baby before, and for the typical newborn, and most mothers, it's as simple as putting the baby to your breast, right?

I knew that my colostrum was more than enough, though - liquid gold, as they call it, and once baby's ties were resolved, he latched, successfully, for the very first time! We went on to nurse for 4️⃣ years!

*** A PHYSICIAN'S TESTIMONY ***

❝I am a medical doctor almost 40 years old now, from a country with a very low circumcision rate. It wasn't until I had already had two kids with my loving wife that I started to think about getting a circumcision. In fact, my urologist proposed it to me as a way to cut down on cost of my vasectomy. The circumcision would be covered by my insurance. So, I did it, just being curious. At 40, many people are getting a tattoo, something that leaves a mark. I thought it might also refresh my s*x life. And so it happened.

❝The procedure itself was much more painful than I thought. Not the cut itself, but the exposed g***s. It simply wanted to get back inside. It felt like a baby kangaroo that somebody cut away the mother's pouch. It SUFFERED. Then, it got less sensitive. Before the circumcision, I believed the g***s played the chief s*xual role. Now I know it didn't, and stimulating the g***s only led to wanting to p*e.

❝The first pe*******on was SHOCKING. It was technically challenging without a fo****in, I needed extra lubrication. Intact, your fo****in is like a natural sliding sleeve, it lets you get into even a dry va**na without irritating it. Not deep, but enough to point a direction. And enough to reach more moist tissue. But that I expected. What I didn't expect was how it would feel while sliding inside. IT DIDN'T FEEL AT ALL. Simply numb. I felt something at the base of my p***s, the tip didn't provide any sensation. It kind of changed with time, I seem to have amplified the little sensation coming from the small bit of fo****in left.

❝It took me some weeks to learn how to reach or**sm with my newly circumcised p***s. I was s*xually active for 20 years intact and now I am facing, hopefully, at least 20 more years of s*xual activity circumcised. The main difference is lessened sensitivity, at ~10% of the original, and the more rough way I have s*x now.

❝The ma********on is also very different, more difficult and complicated. Before my hand was rolling on the fo****in without sliding on it. The outer layer stayed with my hand and the inner layer stayed with the g***s; only the two layers of the fo****in were sliding against each other. Just like a dog's neck skin can move freely. Now the skin of the p***s has to rub against my hand, so I need to use some lubricant or bypass the ma********on altogether and wait for s*x. So I find it very plausible when some argue that the male circumcision was advocated as a remedy for teenage ma********on.

❝I felt very, very sad at the beginning. I coped and compensated for it now, as some patients after p***s operations do, and have a good s*x life still, but was it worth it? I don't enjoy oral s*x anymore. It can now only ever serve the purpose of lubrication. The s*xual "kick" comes only from hard strokes. Some women like it, some don't. It might depend on what she's familiar with. Before, it was a rainbow of sensation just from being inside her. I needed only to move a little.

❝I am against routine infant circumcision. In my opinion it equals to a female circumcision.❞

"Wise women have been known to say: “what gets the baby in, gets the baby out.”

…meaning that the same energy and environment of lo******ng is sometimes necessary for birth.

This is why women need dark to birth.
This is why women need quiet to birth.
This is why women need privacy to birth.
This is why women need to feel loved to birth.
This is why women need to feel safe to birth.
This is why women need a supportive partner to birth.
This is why women need free-flowing oxytocin to birth.

This photo captures it all."

What if I told you that you can perform your own fertility, prenatal and intrapartum care? 🤰💕 Check out this empowering list of things that you (and your partner) can do to consciously take charge of your autonomy!

You can do the following, yourself:
• track your cycle
• utilize pelvimetry to study the internal anatomy of your pelvis and research what labor positions are said to be optimal for you
• use neem oil as a natural contraceptive (intrava**nally - or your partner can take neem oil capsules, orally) and the FAM Method to prevent pregnancy
• yoni steam to detox your uterus (DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU ARE PREGNANT, as it can induce a spontaneous abortion; do not do this postpartum - until you are cleared by a midwife or OBGYN)
• practice exercises and use tools (yoni eggs, ben wa and kegel balls) to strengthen your pelvic floor
• insert Boric Acid capsules, va**nally, to balance your pH, treat Bacterial Vaginosis and relieve yeast infections (DO NOT TAKE THEM ORALLY)
• take D-Mannose, orally, to treat and/or prevent UTIs
• use the FAM Method to encourage pregnancy
• utilize (proper) Chinese Medicine, herbal medicine, acupressure and meridian work to aid in fertility; always do your research and consult the necessary practitioners when it comes to herbal remedies
• use the energy from your (and/or your partner's) or**sms to consciously manifest the conception of a baby
• listen to your baby's heartbeat (with a fetal stethoscope, pinard horn and/or fetal doppler)
• measure your fundal height (typically within 2 cm/2 weeks of baby's guesstimated gestation)
• monitor your urine, blood glucose, blood pressure and iron levels
• follow the Dr. Brewer's Pregnancy Diet to ensure optimal nutrition and help prevent pre-eclampsia
• handcraft your own herbal prenatal tea (N.O.R.A.), and other herbal remedies (tinctures) to aid in the labor and postpartum periods
• examine changes in your cervix with a speculum and handheld mirror
• belly map and discover your baby's positioning
• book an appointment for an elective ultrasound
• complete a blood test to find out baby's gender
• order other labs (such as 'Prenatal OB Panel', 'Non Invasive Prenatal Legal' Paternity Panel and 'Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase PGx Panel' through an AnyLabTestNow location)
• do gentle exercises to prepare for a smooth labor and promote optimal positioning
• utilize breech inversion exercises if you wish to turn a breech baby cephalic (head-down)
• practice physiological birth interventional maneuvers with yourself and your partner/birth team
• write a hospital transfer birth plan - just in case
• speak to baby's higher self about how you are feeling, and why, and how you envision your dream birth going
• delve into hypnobirthing and understand deeply that a pain-free, and even or**smic, birth is possible
• print off birth affirmations and create a serene and sacred birth space
• create a labor music playlist
• actively work to heal your traumas and societal conditioning surrounding birth, and avoid the unsolicited, detrimental advice of others (realize that they speak from their conditioning as well)
• check your own cervix (not highly recommended due to infection/cervical lip risk, but some women choose to do this during labor)
• vocalize your contractions as loudly, or quietly, as you wish; if you feel called to roar - ROAR
• move freely during labor
• push when you feel called to, without someone else coaching you or pressuring you to ignore/go against your intuition and primal instincts
• very well - not push at all, and allow for the Fetal Ejection Reflex to take over
• monitor your postpartum blood loss and intervene if necessary
• hold your baby, uninterrupted, for hours before cutting or burning the cord, or leave the cord attached until it falls off on its own
Your partner can:
• sit with you as you seek out new information, and watch a few 'normal' birth videos to prepare for what birth will be like
• roleplay birth scenarios
• understand that you do not need any negative unsolicited advice from him, family members and/or friends surrounding your birth desires, and he can choose to uphold your boundaries and advocate for you
• look into counterpressure, belly sifting and massage pain relief techniques
• research topics such as vaccines, ge***al mutilation, cry-it-out, formula feeding, etc, IN DEPTH, with you, and understand the reasons behind why you are not doing (or are doing) these things - enough that he can relay the scientific and statistical information to another human being and advocate for your collective parental decisions, with reasoning - not just 'going along with it because it's what you want'
• actively participate in your prenatal self-care
• attend prenatal activities, such as prenatal yoga, or Lamaze Class
• help you prepare supplies for the baby's arrival, and meal plan - so that you won't have to strain yourself during the postpartum period
• go over your transfer plan and practice how to provide clear and stern advocation for your rights and desires, in the hospital
• love you deeply, and make you feel cherished - actively remembering that you are choosing to create another human life with him
• show his appreciation for you and eagerly help you through all of the pains that you may experience
• actively participate in labor by providing pain relief: counterpressure, belly sifting and massage techniques
• help you regulate your breathing, and maintain close, intimate eye contact - if that's what you desire
• support your perineum by applying counterpressure with a warm washcloth
• alternatively, give you space - if that's what you desire (some women desire lots of touch during birth, while some wish to be left alone)

Of course, there's more, but these are several of the things that come to my mind. 🤔💭 Sending baby dust to all of you who wish to conceive, and happy, healthy birthing to those of you who are expecting! 💚

Here's a picture of one of the lovely mamas I had the opportunity of serving through her prenatal journey - listening to baby girl's heartbeat through a double-sided fetal stethoscope with big brother. 🥰 (I love the double-sided fetoscopes, as they allow for two people to listen to the heartbeat at the same exact time, and in real time; a handheld fetal doppler has an echo and isn't in real time.)

This is a hand-carved statue from Australia that I wished to gift my client as a Rites of Passage token - to always honor her, to make her feel cherished, and to symbolize her transformation - her new identity as a Mama of 5, and a badass who went for the unassisted waterbirth of her dreams, despite lies and fear mongering from the system. She totally heckin' did that. 👏

It arrived several months late, with no active tracking, and then it was lost through move after move, as I underwent tower after tower moment of my own. I found her again, and this is a snapshot of her before I send her off. 💕

I'm beyond grateful to walk this path. Although I couldn't attend this birth due to illness, I am grateful to have held space, create new lifelong connections and honor the Postpartum Rites of Passage. 🙏

I love this, and I love how the birthing tub is transparent. I love my Oasis Birth Pool, but I'll have to invest in buying a transparent tub next. 💕 So precious.

We are conditioned at such a young age to fear birth, associate it with the words 'pain, scary, surgery, cut, emergency,' and we collectively view it as a taboo subject - private. So, the average person has not seen a physiologically normal birth. If/when birth abuse happens to them or their loved ones, they have nothing to compare it to. Thus, birth falls into a cyclical pattern of oftentimes being more violated and desecrated than not, and the experiences are hushed under a label of 'normal... at the hospital.'

Many OBGYNs have not experienced physiologically normal births (when you merely confine a woman to a bed to labor, you defy her birth instincts, and violate her birth and bodily autonomy, not to mention meddling with the process with medications - pitocin inductions and epidurals, membrane sweeps and/or artificial rupture of membranes.)

It's empowering for little girls to see what physiologically normal birth is - how painful (or painless it can be), and for little boys to see what women go through to bring souls EarthSide. It's important for children to see how birth should be - peaceful and free from meddling, so that they aren't swept into the 'birth is scary' mindset, succumbed with fear, and seek to place their birth at the hands of a surgeon (OBGYN) to do whatever they wish to their birth and body, even if it's to their detriment.

With the compromised babies who need resuscitation, a common culprit is fluid in the lungs, which prevents the heart from becoming properly oxygenated.

Postural drainage, suctioning and stimulation will often bring a compromised baby around, but sometimes, more invasive intervention is needed: inflation breaths, positive pressure ventilation and chest compressions.

Each contraction helps to build the fundus for fetal ejection, and SQUEEZES the fluid from baby's lungs. It's a divine process - a dance between Baby and Mother, inherent to instinct.

Respect the contraction. Trust the process. Honor this final dance.

What are the implications of hindering the labor process and not truly cherishing and holding space for the contractions, and what they're doing?
