One of my earliest memories of drinking tea was out at the farm my mother grew up on near the Milk River just a few miles south of the Canadian border. My mom's family are dry land farmers. It's extremely hard work for little pay but there was always a strong sense of gratitude and contentment taught to me that I try to carry on into my life.

While I was still too young to be of much use during harvest, I couldn't run a combine or drive a grain truck. I still would tagalong to the wheat fields to catch grasshoppers, play in the wheat chaff and look for arrowheads. I always remember seeing my grandma's truck and it's dust trail approaching from mile's away. This is in the true big sky part of Montana where the Great Plains seem to stretch forever outwards with the only inkling of elevation being the Sweetgrass Hills, 60 miles to the east.

As she drew closer, my uncles and grandpa would turn off the machinery and gather for dinner (what I call lunch they called dinner and what I call dinner they called supper). Upon her arrival she'd dole out sandwiches, snacks and serve the sun tea she had set out that morning out of a weathered Coleman water jug.

Every time I make sun tea, the memory of summers spent on the Hi-Line flood back to me, bringing with it a sense of kinship and gratitude for my family and the lessons they taught.

Blue skies are back for now. Glad to say goodbye to the smoke and hello again to the mountain views.

It's been a busy summer here in Bozeman.

Between the orders packed, the kind words read, and the cups of tea shared, we've been feeling the love.

We're going to keep keeping on. Dodging the smoke, getting out when the skies clear and drinking a little too much tea.

Thanks for being a part of this all.
