If one week every month leaves you feeling like a completely different person, you’re not imagining it, and you’re not being dramatic.

PMS is common. PMDD is a recognized mood disorder that can affect your relationships, your work, and how you feel about yourself. The good news is that it’s very treatable once it’s identified.

Swipe through to see how they differ, and save this post if you want to start tracking your own patterns. If this sounds familiar, our team is here to help you sort out what’s going on and what support fits you.

If you’re having thoughts of su***de or self-harm, call or text 988 (Su***de & Crisis Lifeline), available 24/7.

Somewhere along the way, a lot of us picked up the idea that we should only reach out once things get really hard. We think meds mean something’s “wrong” with us, or we tell ourselves everyone else is managing just fine.

This fall, let’s squash those thoughts.

Getting support early isn’t overreacting. It’s taking care of yourself. If you’ve been thinking about talking to someone, this is your sign. Book through the link in our bio. 🍂

Lab work isn’t always part of mental health care, but when it is, there’s a reason behind it. 🧪 Sometimes we’re checking for physical factors like thyroid, iron, or nutrient levels that can affect how you feel. Other times we’re making sure a medication is working safely for you. Your provider orders the labs, and you pick where to have them drawn. Have questions? Bring them to your next appointment. 💬

When people think of ADHD medication, they usually picture stimulants. But for some patients, ADHD comes with a nervous system that feels stuck in overdrive: overstimulated, reactive, restless, and hard to settle.

Guanfacine (Intuniv) is one of my favorite tools for the right patient because it works on that “revved up” piece directly. By gently turning down the body’s stress response, it can create a calmer baseline, which makes focus, emotional regulation, and rest feel more within reach.

Every brain is different, and medication decisions should always be personalized. If you’re curious whether this could be part of your plan, we’re happy to talk it through.

Fall has a way of filling every open square on the calendar. Sports seasons, lessons, clubs, fall festivals, and before long, the holidays are around the corner.

Wanting to give your kids every opportunity comes from a loving place. But parents are people with finite energy, time, and emotional reserves. When the schedule only works if you’re running on empty, it isn’t really working for anyone.

It’s okay to make decisions based on what your whole family can realistically hold, not just whether you can technically squeeze one more thing in. Kids benefit from rested, present parents just as much as they benefit from activities.

If this season feels heavier than usual, you don’t have to sort through it alone. Our team is here to support you.

IF you’ve ever been told you have an “MTHFR mutation,”you might have gone home and googled it. Then you probably found a lot of scary, conflicting information. 😅

Here’s the reassuring part: MTHFR variants are really common. Up to 40% of people carry at least one. For most people, it just means the body converts folate to its active form a little more slowly. It doesn’t mean something is “”broken.””

When can it matter? Sometimes it’s part of the picture for people whose depression hasn’t fully responded to treatment, or whose medication doesn’t seem to be doing quite enough. In those cases, adding the active form of folate (L-methylfolate) may help support both symptoms and medication response for some people.

The key is context. A genetic result on its own doesn’t tell the whole story. Your labs, your history, and how you’re actually feeling matter just as much.

If you have MTHFR results and you’re not sure what to make of them, bring them to your next appointment. We’re always happy to talk through what they do (and don’t) mean for you.
