Last call 💜 — the survey closes Friday at midnight.

Thank you to every woman who has already answered my anonymous women's wellness survey. If you haven't yet: this is the survey that decides whether I invest in bringing a non-surgical treatment platform for bladder leaks, pelvic floor weakness, and menopause-related dryness and discomfort to Lotus DPC in Brighton.

📋 Take it before Friday at midnight: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdIAnkQCSw-pj2KSDzMXMjtCjqJV-0vinOgot8c1zqtltD0Ng/viewform
⏱️ 2 minutes · anonymous · the cost picture is stated honestly inside

After it closes I'll share what I heard and where things stand. Your voice genuinely makes this decision.

❓ Is pneumonia contagious? One of the most-searched health questions of virus season — and the answer is: it depends.

Pneumonia is an infection in the lungs. The germs that cause it — certain viruses and bacteria — can spread through coughs and close contact. Flu, RSV, and COVID can also lead to pneumonia, especially in older adults, little ones, and anyone with a weaker immune system.

Watch for: a cough that keeps getting worse, fever/chills, chest pain when you breathe, feeling breathless doing normal things, and unusual tiredness.

⚠️ Trouble breathing, chest pain, or confusion isn't "wait and see" — get urgent help the same day.

Lotus DPC members can message Dr. Thomas and get a plan from their own doctor, and in-office testing is available. New here? Free Meet & Greet: (248) 430-8649 · lotusdpc.com

A quick reminder, ladies of Brighton 💜

My anonymous women's wellness survey is still open — and your answers decide whether I bring a non-surgical treatment option for bladder leaks, pelvic floor weakness, and menopause-related dryness and discomfort to Lotus DPC.

📋 Take it here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdIAnkQCSw-pj2KSDzMXMjtCjqJV-0vinOgot8c1zqtltD0Ng/viewform
⏱️ 2 minutes · completely anonymous · no name or health details

I shared the honest cost picture in the survey itself, because your answer only helps if it's an informed one. If you've ever thought "I wish someone offered help for this locally" — this is your moment to say so.

It's live — and it's 100% anonymous. 💜

Yesterday I shared that I'm considering a non-surgical treatment platform for bladder leaks, pelvic floor weakness, and menopause-related dryness and discomfort. Your response decides whether Lotus brings it to Brighton.

📋 The survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdIAnkQCSw-pj2KSDzMXMjtCjqJV-0vinOgot8c1zqtltD0Ng/viewform
⏱️ About 2 minutes
🙈 No name, no email, no personal health details — please don't add any

One honest note on cost: these treatments aren't covered by insurance, and at other practices a treatment series typically runs $1,500–$2,500. The survey asks what feels reasonable to you — that matters just as much as the interest itself.

Thank you for helping me build the kind of women's care our community actually wants. Share this with a friend who'd want a say. 💜

❓ What is RSV — and why is everyone talking about it?

RSV is a very common respiratory virus. For most older kids and healthy adults it feels like a bad cold. Where it needs more respect is in babies, toddlers, older adults, and people with lung/heart conditions or weaker immune systems — for them it can cause bronchiolitis or pneumonia.

Watch little ones for: fast or labored breathing, wheezing, poor feeding, fewer wet diapers, and unusual sleepiness. Watch older adults for worsening cough, wheezing, and breathlessness.

If breathing looks hard, get checked the same day. In-office testing is available at Lotus DPC.

This is where one family doctor for every generation helps — at Lotus DPC, Dr. Thomas cares for pediatrics through geriatrics in one membership.

Can we talk about the symptoms nobody talks about? 💜

Leaking when you laugh, cough, or work out. Rushing to the bathroom "just in case." Dryness and discomfort since menopause. So many women assume this is just aging — and never mention it to their doctor.

I'm considering bringing a non-surgical, in-office treatment platform to Lotus DPC for exactly these concerns — pelvic floor strengthening for bladder leaks, and gentle radiofrequency treatments for menopause-related changes. No surgery, and for most treatments, no downtime.

Before I decide, I want to hear from YOU. Next week I'll post a short, completely anonymous survey — 2 minutes, no name, no personal details.

Curious in the meantime? Comment INFO and I'll message you what I'm looking at.

❓ What does strep throat look like? Another top-searched question this season.

Clues that point more toward strep than a typical viral sore throat:
• A very red throat and swollen tonsils, sometimes with white patches
• Tiny red spots on the roof of the mouth
• Fever, headache, stomach ache (common in kids)
• Swollen, tender glands in the neck
• And notably: usually no cough

A runny nose, hoarse voice, and cough point more toward a virus — and viruses don't need antibiotics. Strep needs a test to confirm, because untreated strep can lead to complications.

A photo from the internet can't diagnose it — a quick strep test can. In-office testing is available at Lotus DPC in Brighton.

❓ How long does the flu last?

It's already here locally — early flu cases are turning up in neighboring Wayne, Oakland and Washtenaw counties, with Washtenaw at moderate levels.

For most healthy adults, the worst is usually 3–5 days, with most symptoms easing in 5–7 days. The tiredness and cough can hang on for 1–2 weeks after.

You can spread flu starting about a day before you feel sick, and for roughly 5–7 days after.

Basics: rest, fluids, and fever control if your doctor says it's right for you. Antiviral medicine works best started early — within the first 48 hours — which is why quick access to your doctor matters. In-office testing is available at Lotus DPC.

Members can reach Dr. Thomas by phone, text, or email when symptoms hit — not after a week on a waitlist. 📞 (248) 430-8649 · lotusdpc.com
