Campfire.

One of the twelve forms, and the one that joins us in community as we sit together.

Every culture has a version of it. People in a circle on the ground, close to the warmth, facing each other. The body knows that shape long before anyone explains it.

“I learned to layer the fire this autumn and to pick the right kindling from the wood pile. To listen to the wood stove spitting to know when it is time to change the flow of air.”

Christy Punnett, Full Moon At The Knife’s Edge

A low steady burn, tended. That’s the form, and it’s most of the practice too.

Weaving the World: Exploring Your Intrinsic Core.

A week-long retreat on the beautiful island of St Vincent with Christy and Tom Myers, where you sink deeply into the literal centre of yourself and return to your real life more deeply centred in what is truly meaningful.

This is not an exploration of the correct. It is tuning in to your body’s signals just below your level of awareness, mapping your own intuitive internal space, and coming to the satisfying feeling of being your own authority.

Together we weave Tom’s impactful insights on anatomy, posture and movement with Artemis, Christy’s internal movement practice, so that you learn to see your own movement patterns and understand the patterns of others through Tom’s BodyReading visual assessment, and rediscover forgotten places in your spine and belly through Christy’s deeply felt movement explorations.

Our focus is the Deep Front Line, the intrinsic core that surrounds the organs, supports the pelvic floor, interacts with the vagus nerve, breathes with us and allows us to speak and sing. Embodied integration leads to adaptability and resilience, so necessary in the coming years.

Teaching finishes at 3:00 each day, so your afternoons are free, and Friday 29 January is yours entirely to explore the beauty of St Vincent.

26 January to 1 February 2027 · St Vincent

“Movement, in Gaby's teaching, is an act of listening. A way of slowing down enough to hear what the body has always been trying to say."

That's why we work slowly. Not because slow is gentle, but because at speed and at effort you can't feel any of it.

Gaby is a Venezuelan born Trinidadian artist and movement teacher, and a recently graduated Artemis Teacher. As a painter she has spent decades learning to look closely, and that same attention shapes everything she brings to her teaching. 🤍

There’s a line that runs up the middle of you, from under the arch of the foot, through the inner thigh, the deep belly, the diaphragm and the throat, to the base of the skull. It isn’t one muscle, it behaves as one thing, which is why pulling on one end changes the other.

So a jaw that never unclenches often shows up as a hip that will not release, and a neck that aches all day is usually holding up a head that nothing underneath it is supporting.

This is why we work from the inside out, the deep support first and then everything that sits on it, and why we begin with awareness rather than correction. You cannot hold a shape you cannot feel.

Let your jaw go. Let your tongue drop off the roof of your mouth. Notice what changes further down. 🤍

Ren, in Symi, on what Artemis has given her.

Ren is one of our teachers and she practises wherever the road takes her, which lately is the Aegean. Her words are in the video, so we'll keep ours short.

What she describes is the thing we hear most often. Not getting stronger or more flexible, though that happens. Something quieter. A way of being in your own body that goes with you, into a boat deck, a kitchen, a stair, a morning far from home.

That's rather the point. You're not meant to get good at the class.

Take us with you Ren, and keep sending us the sunsets. 🤍

The Keeping Bone - the keeper of memory.

Did you know that bone marrow is where long-term immune memory actually lives. After an infection or vaccination, most of the responding cells die off, but a small population of long-lived plasma cells migrates to the marrow and settles into survival niches there, quietly secreting antibody for years or decades.

The marrow is less a factory than it is an archive: your body’s record of everything it has met and survived is physically housed in the middle of your bones.
